Euphorbia Safari Lodge

We waren met een groep van 9 en het was geen enkel probleem om nog een ontbijt voor ons te regelen aangezien we in de ochtend al arriveerden. Het eten dat werd geserveerd was top. Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en staat altijd klaar waar nodig. Een rustige plek om te verblijven, enkel de geluiden van de dieren in de nacht.

Ontbijt prima evenals al het andere eten. Prima cottages met goede bedden. Verantwoordelijke begeleiding naar je cottage in het donker

As refeições podiam ter alimentos locais e não tão europeizados. O espaço pode ser rentabilizado com a venda de artesanato local e maior exposição das bebidas e comidas. O bar por exemplo estava vazio. Atenção não há água quente e isso deveria ser dito aos hóspedes. Para nós não foi problema pk p clima é quente.

This stay is inside the park, so location is at a premium. It is unclear whether a day pass to the park is needed to stay at the lodge as we were not asked for one, but we had one for our whole stay regardless as we did self drive game drives everyday. The property and grounds are quite cool. Being in the national park, warthogs, elephants, mongoose and other animals were frequent sightings here. At night, we watch/listened to the elephants outside the bedroom only a few feet away. The breakfast in the morning was also nice with coffee, eggs, sausage, toast and bananas and pineapple. The room was large, the beds were comfortable with good mosquito nets and were mostly clean. The hot water also worked reliably. The staff are also pleasant and friendly and helped us out when we encountered some car issues.

What brings the score down a bit is almost the OVER attention you get from the staff. We were the only guests staying at the property, so perhaps this played into things, but anytime we were sitting in the restaurant area (the place to sit and use the wifi, which mostly did not work), the staff stood by staring at us the entire time, occasionally jumping into our conversations. We were also asked over a dozen times whether we wanted to do a game drive/river cruise/village walk. We had made it pretty clear we were just self driving the park and exploring the area for wildlife so it came across as a bit pushy. We ended up having to go hang out in our room to escape the discomfort. At the end of our stay, we were also asked if we could drive one of the staff to a town three hours away. It was on our path, so we agreed, but it struck us as a bit of an odd thing to ask guests and were in a position where we couldn't really say no. We didn't mind, but it seemed unusual. My recommendation to this lodge would be to encourage staff to be a bit more hands off with guests. I appreciate that they make money from these activities but if guests have made it clear that their plans don't involve these activities, leave them be. Also, give them some breathing space in common areas to just relax.
