The decor was beautiful and tastefully done. The location for our purpose visiting Valley Vet was very close and convenient. Cheri was a good host and helpful. There is salt & pepper and also fresh milk, really appreciated for a short stay.

The layout of the rooms and bathrooms might not suit everyone.

It was a nice and comfortable stay

An eclectic and charming space with great energy, filled with interesting decor throughout. The Frida Kahlo pillow on the patio greeting arriving guests and the intuitively feminine art sprinkled throughout the space were lovely touches. Additionally, the apartment was well-equipped for self-catering, with all the utensils, pots, and pans we needed. It also had Netflix, Prime Video, and a decent internet connection. If you’re looking for a creative, budget-friendly stay with a gracious and welcoming host and can handle a few inconveniences, this property offers excellent value for the price.

We experienced extended power outages across two days; the first lasting around 7–8 hours, and the second approaching 24 hours. Unfortunately, we had to check out early during the second outage, as the ongoing power loss made it impossible to conduct personal business and there was a risk of food spoilage. Power interruptions can be fairly common in South Africa, so it’s worth checking if a property has proper backup power. Our previous accommodation had a full solar assembly that switched on seamlessly during outages, while this one offered only a single solar-connected plug for charging small devices. At minimum, a couple of small, battery operated lanterns and an interim or periodic fridge connection to prevent spoilage would have been great additions. We would also recommend the single door separating the guest unit from the host's adjoining space be soundproofed to ensure privacy on both sides as conversation and movement can be clearly heard. With a few minor tweaks and adjustments, this place could easily command a much higher rate. That said, the property was very affordable, roughly half the cost of our prior stay, so we were grateful for the savings and didn’t mind too much. Overall, the space had a lot of character.
