Beautiful Riverside Cottage with Large Garden, 2BR

The garden was lovely. The kitchen has all we needed. Lovely living room. Great shower.

The cottage had simply an almost unbeatable position. The situation next to a small river and surrounded by a huge garden, with absolute peace and quiet. The kitchen was well equiped with all the expected bits. The TV was good with loads of channels. The bathroom was a little small but there was plenty of hot water for a long shower. For two people with one child the cottage is perfect.

There was not welcoming basket in the kitchen,just a few tea bags and coffee. There was not washing up liquid. A little salt would have been welcome. We had to buy our own. The number of plates and glasses was also limited.The Sofa has seen better days. The bed was comfortable, but a little small, but considering the size of the room, a larger bed would been impossible.

The setting, the quiet, the sounds of the Brook and the birds. The Woodburner was excellent - lit first time and stayed lit with great 'draw' - not a Molecule of smoke escaped to the lounge. Enjoyed the history in the property details

Would have preferred a bit more freedom to roam the grounds more widely, but perhaps we misinterpreted the description. Could have done with a baking tray - had we been staying for longer, we may have found the kitchen constraining in size and equipment. The tea set for 2 for example, in a 3-person cottage. The bathroom was tight, and the sink small but the very best was made of the limited size. The photos were accurate but the frontage is never experienced as the fountain courtyard is off limits and entry gained via the back door to the kitchen. If there had been an ash bucket and fireside tools we'd have cleaned the woodburner.

Comfortable cottage, good location. Lots of hot water, ideal for soaking in the bath after being out walking all day. Cosy fire to snooze in front of.

Nothing to dislike.
