About this cabin rental

Step back in time at this classic Old Florida river cabin nestled along the world-famous Ichetucknee River with its own private dock. Fed by crystal-clear natural springs that begin in Ichetucknee Springs State Park, the river flows into the Santa Fe and Suwannee Rivers before reaching the Gulf—creating one of Florida’s most pristine and scenic waterways.

Spend your days kayaking, floating, or fishing right from the property as you explore miles of untouched natural beauty. The river is teeming with wildlife—watch manatees, fish, otters, birds, and turtles glide through the clear waters. After a day on the river, clean your fresh catch at the on-site fish cleaning station or simply relax and soak in the peaceful surroundings.

The main living space is located on the second floor and features three bedrooms and one full bath, along with a large screened-in porch offering plenty of seating. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee, read a book, listen to the river flow, or watch local wildlife at play.

Downstairs, guests will find a second full outdoor bathroom and a spacious screened recreation area complete with a ping-pong table, comfortable seating, and ample storage. The outdoor grilling and serving area with sink makes family cookouts and evenings by the river easy and enjoyable.

This is a rare opportunity to experience your own slice of Old Florida riverfront paradise—peaceful, natural, and unforgettable. Conveniently located near Fort White, Branford, High Springs, and Gainesville, you’re just a short drive from shopping, dining, attractions, and small-town historic charm while still feeling a world away.

Cabin inside was very clean! Kitchen was stocked with necessary items. I completely understand the decks are open to the elements, but it would be nice to hose it down every so often. Wear your shoes outside. The boardwalk to the water is a good length, but that’s expected for the area. The house had all the fun water rafts/kayaks, the only bummer was you’re not provided the key for neighborhood park. So you have to use the State Park across the street and no instructions. It would have been nice to utilize the rafts from the house.

Pros: The house, grounds, and location were fantastic. Super clean place with comfortable beds, spacious kitchen, and a comfy living room area. Upstairs and downstairs screened in porches with tons of fans were also a delight. Tons of tubes, floats, and kayaks available to use. Cons: There was a miscommunication with the hosts, which they eventually corrected but it was an awkward experience. Host didn’t provide many things a vacation rental typically does such as beach towels, coffee, charcoal, laundry sheets, and laundry soap. There was no shower caddy for the upstairs so our soap had to sit on the floor. Would have been nice to have some chairs available to bring down to the lower part of the dock and a table for the upper part. We were told we had access to the parks but it is not available to renters unless you are willing to paddle against the strong current. Other option is to have two vehicles so you can launch from the state park which cost money to enter and is very restrictive on what vessels can be used. Nice place, great location, but the hosts could do more to make the place feel more like a home and less like a no frills hotel.
