Clean and value for money

It was very clean and great value for money. Bathroom was nice amd spacious and air conditioner worked perfect.

The noise from family and guests traveled quite a lot in the morning- no sleeping in, but night times were ok.

How to live the real place

Structure just outside the centre of Ubud where you can breathe cleaner air and really quiet environment, live the Balinese everyday life with the families who live there. Really kind, helpful and smiling people. For the price per night more than satisfactory. The rooms are well insulated from the outside so non-existent scents/noises. Air conditioning working excellently, breakfast included really optimal.

It's just a note but not too relevant probably due to the pipes - the shower water takes a while to go down but otherwise excellent location, place and staff

People here are incredibly friendly. We arrived at 3 a.m., and they warmly welcomed us and checked us in without any problems. The rooms were very clean, fresh, and smelled nice. There were absolutely no insects or any unpleasant surprises. The hosts are kind and caring, and it was genuinely a pleasure to stay here — it really felt like a place you’d want to live in, not just sleep. The location is also great: many shops, restaurants, and everything you might need are nearby. We were very satisfied with our stay and will definitely come back in the future. Highly recommended!

Hidden gem 🤍

First of all, I want to start by saying how much love there is in this place. The hosts are some of the warmest people we’ve met in Bali - so genuine, and they all feel like one big family. You can rent a scooter here, do your laundry, order breakfast, and even get a massage! The room was very well taken care of - very clean, cozy, fresh, and smelled amazing. It honestly felt brand new. We also did our laundry here and got everything back looking like new, beautifully folded and cared for. The location is great, surrounded by locals, simple, cozy, and beautiful. After escaping the busy center of Ubud, this was the perfect place to relax. There are also so many beautiful spots around. We will definitely come back more than once and will recommend this place to everyone! 🙏🤍

Bring your AirPods.

The price, the male host who helped me carry my suitcase up the steps. He allowed me to store something in the fridge and let me use his kitchen. He was very kind, but seemed to be the only one happy to have guests staying there. There are also thousands of birds nesting in the nearby trees.

This was a very uncomfortable and miserable experience because of the noise and it was not healthy because of the continuous burning of plastics and trash in the village. The photos hide the areas of disrepair. The white walls (on the surrounding buildings) are covered in mold.

Best place in Ubud

We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view of the surroundings and the option of breakfast. Very clean with a great atmosphere among the locals. It was also possible to leave our luggage before check-in, which was very convenient. We would be happy to come back. The place is about a 10-minute scooter ride from the center of Ubud.

Good until the last morning.

The property was a large extended family homestay, all of whom were friendly and approachable. The host family were great and included me in their full moon temple visit.

Unfortunately my verandah was in full view of the old matriarch of the family lifting her sarong to urinate on the path in front of her. Not a great sight while having breakfast , but she excuses many things. Whilst cock fighting is the norm in Bali it upset me to see it happening at the property on the morning I left. This animal cruelty is really not acceptable. The latter incident spoilt my stay at Penol house.

I recommend this place a lot and if you want a less busy/rural vibes, then this place is perfect! The owners are the sweetest and made sure that we had a wonderful stay.

The bed was comfy but bed shits weren’t clean.

The bathroom doesn’t have door! Many ants and insects inside of the room. We paid for breakfast and we received absolutely nothing!! We even didn’t know who to ask about it.

A nice, simple, easy, affordable place to stay in ubud.

A beautiful quiet homestay away from central town where it’s busy, but still close enough for a cheap scooter ride in. Really friendly family and locals, helped me with my bags, and let me leave all my stuff there after check out so I could explore for the day. A nice, simple, affordable place to stay in ubud.

No issues, just remember it’s a homestay so there may be people and animals making some noises in the morning. It’s kind of a nice ambience tho.

Highly recommend

Lovely view from our room (balcony room). The bed was comfortable and big. Breakfast was really nice and good value for money (would definitely recommend the banana pancakes). Era was amazing and we throughly enjoyed the Ubud tour offered! He even took us to places which weren’t on the tour.

Quite a lot of bugs and loud environment. Location was a little out the way of Ubud centre,need to either rent a bike or get taxis. (This wasn’t an issue for us but could be for others)

Beautiful weekend in the heart of Ubud!

We had an amazing stay at Penol House. The staff is really nice, welcoming and helpful. They helped us to get food and delivered it to us as we arrived late. The room is clean and has a nice view. It’s a good location, you can walk around and find restaurants. But it’s aswell really easy and quick to get a taxi to go to the center of Ubud.

Der Blick auf die von Heron Vögeln besiedelten Bäume war traumhaft. Das Zimmer hatte alkes was man braucht. Zum nächsten Restaurant läuft man ca 15Minuten.

Die Lage war sehr außerhalb von Ubud und die Straße eher schlecht. Da wir nur auf Durchreise waren, war es für uns perfekt.

La habitación y el baño están bien de tamaño, la cama es cómoda y está limpio. Se portaron muy bien conmigo, se ofrecen a llevarte a los sitios si necesitas transporte, a un precio razonable.

La ubicación dentro de un callejón con vecinos muy ruidosos por las mañanas (niños gritando y llorando antes de las 7 am). Tuve una mala experiencia, mi vuelo se retrasó, llegué de madrugada y no había nadie esperándome, ni cogían el teléfono, no hay una recepción como tal… no estaba preparada para encontrarme con el modo de vida de Bali en esos momentos.

Sentirsi a casa in una famiglia indonesiana

Stare da Era e la sua famiglia è stata una vera esperienza indonesiana. La camera è veramente carina, pulita e accogliente. La colazione molto buona ed economica. Abbiamo noleggiato lo scooter ad un buon prezzo e ci hanno accompagnato con l'auto nei luoghi più distanti da Ubud, sempre ad un buon prezzo. Alloggio consigliato per non stare troppo vicini al centro caotico di Ubud!

Quizá lo único bueno que podría decir es que la cama era muy cómoda, amplia y las sábanas olían muy bien.

Para empezar, las fotos no corresponden con el alojamiento, no tienen absolutamente nada que ver. De hecho nos sorprendimos un monton, el personal sí que era agradable, pero luego era difícil comunicarse con ellos. Lo que pasó el último día, hubo un problema de comunicación entre ellos y al final salimos afectadas nosotras. Además había una cucaracha y muchas lagartijas, que la lagartija la verdad que era lo que menos me preocupaba, era más las cucarachas y sobre todo que no era lo esperado que no tiene nada que ver una cosa con la otra. Aparte que era imposible dormir porque hay muchísimo ruido de animales, muchísimo ruido de niños, muchísimos gritos, no hay paz es imposible dormir.

Le personnel est très gentil et très serviable. On séjourne au plus près des balinais. L’hôtel propose de nombreux services ( massages, locations de scooter, taxis, laundry … ) Je vous conseille de prendre une chambre en hauteur avec vue.
