Good location, with restaurants and sightseeing easily accessible by Uber. The property is in a safe, gated compound. The apartment is independent and has everything needed for your stay. The gas heater was particularly useful during the cooler weather. The pool area also looked very nice, although unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side and we couldn’t make use of it. Overall, it was good value for money and provided a convenient base for exploring Johannesburg.

The apartment is a little dark, but it is functional and well equipped. We also found the communication with the host wasn’t as welcoming as we expected, based in particular based on other positive reviews. Overall, though, the accommodation was perfectly adequate for the price.

Casa de Olivia is a lovely, clean and peaceful place Lungile and Mbali are amazing people, the communication, service and atmosphere was top tier. They kept checking up on me which felt good 😊, the place is safe and quite easy access to restaurants and mall, I had a good quite time, I will definitely book again in future.

The unit was very clean and neat. Bed was comfortable and a lovely gas heater for the chilly winter temperatures. The host was lovely. The location was excellent for where I was working.

There were a few practical challenges, especially as I stayed for 3 nights on a working trip. The desk was very small and did not have good light or a plug for me to plug in a laptop. In fact the only plug for charging anything was next to the bed and very difficult to reach due to the small space between bed and wall. Bedroom layout was a challenge as only one tiny bedside table on one side - same side as the plug. So not really anywhere to put anything (could be a me thing) The kitchen had what was needed but it would not be easy to prepare any meals due to very limited counter space eg cut up salad stuff or veggies. Or anywhere to store groceries - cereal, snacks etc. Fine for heat and eat prepared meals. Bar fridge. Then one final cosmetic thing - the property has such a lovely garden and the weather was sunny so it was a pity the windows were small and high up on one side only. So no real “view” or natural light. I hope this review helps travellers like me.
