立地がとても良かった。ホテルの人のサービスが良かったことと、近くのカフェの朝食もとてもお店の人の感じが良くて味も美味しかった。

お風呂のお湯がなかなか出なかった。

利用は4回目でした。今回も高齢になった親を連れていく旅行でした。 佇まいや立地がよく、宿のことは気に入っているため、また利用したいと思います。

今回、部屋の風呂が使えず、タイミングが悪かったのかなと思います。 温泉（券）を用意していただき、タクシー代も出してくださいましたが、母は暗くなって外にでるのが嫌だと言い、行きませんでした。

Obuse is a charming village--I happened to be there when it was really bustling during chestnut and apple season, but I expect it would be delightful any time of year. The open gardens make it especially fun to walk around. The hotel is right in the middle of town, and under 5 minutes walk from most things you would want, including a lovely little cafe just next door. The check-in is fully self-service but there was plenty of communication from the hosts beforehand about how to check-in, and nice welcome messages in the room. My room was a generous size, and well-equipped.

The building itself is unusual in my experience of Japan hotels, such that I actually had a hard time seeing it as the hotel initially. The rooms are in a row with the doors facing a small parking lot, more in the style of a (very tiny) American-style motel. At the time I stayed, the hotel had no hot water and the hosts provided an entry coupon and taxi fare to the town bath (onsen)--I really enjoyed the baths as they were more of a community experience than a tourist one, but I can imagine some people would find this inconvenient.

Lovely clean guesthouse in centre of town. Breakfast at the nearby café was delicious. Staff were very helpful providing transport to the onsen.

Other guests noted in their reviews that the hot water wasnt working in April and its still not working 2 months later ! Very disappointing, especially as they only advised me of this issue the day after I made the full payment which was a bit suspicious as it was too late to change my booking. Obuse is a cute town but many things including some museums are closed mid-week and many restaurants are closed for dinner as well so be careful when choosing when to visit.
