About this house rental

Lake life, all year - and dog-friendly!
No matter what the season, this home on pristine Forest Lake is a must-see for those seeking a comfortable, peaceful home base for their White Mountains vacation. The lake vibe permeates this home every season - with an incredible view of the water lapping the small bay in the summer, the peaceful sight of the frozen lake in the winter, not to mention beautiful sunsets and the fiery spectacle of Fall Foliage. For your comfort, the home is also air conditioned!

Delight in the incredible waterfront lawn, complete with a screened-in and weather-protected sitting area - an amazing place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or read a book right by the water, rain or shine, or enjoy the fire pit or a swim in the calm lake waters. Hot dogs by the water? Check, thanks to the outdoor propane grill. Warm up in the hot tub after a refreshing dip? Check, with the newly added outdoor hot tub. A seasonal dock is provided (a great photo-op for kids and adults alike!), and you can use it to jump in the water or take the kayak, canoe, Stand Up Paddle, or rowboat provided out for a tour of the beautiful mountain lake - maybe you can spot a bald eagle, a loon, or even a moose? And if you enjoy fishing, you'll be delighted to know that the lake is host to many species including trout, bass, and bluegill. Fishing is common year round, and ice fishing is quite popular in the winter as well!

Inside, you will be greeted by an open-concept living space with a fully equipped kitchen, dining, and living area, accented by a propane stove to cozy up to the weather gets chilly. On the same level, you will find a primary bedroom, a private bathroom with a tiled shower, and a Toto Washlet toilet/bidet combo. Start your day right by waking up to a beautiful view of the lake! Head upstairs to find 3 more bedrooms, a bathroom with double sinks and a tiled shower/tub combo, and a laundry room with a modern washer and dryer, iron, and folding table.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the house. The new hot tub right outside the master bedroom is wonderful, you can sit and watch the lake. Lots to see in the lake while paddling around, fish, snails lots of ducks and loons. The kids loved the lake and how close it was to the house. There is a small dirt road that they have to cross to get to the lake but only 6 cars drove by the whole day so it wasnt a problem with older kids. We really enjoyed our time and plan on staying again

The write-up and pictures don't do this property justice! It well exceeded our expectations... which were already pretty high! Comfortable layout that allowed everyone to have "me time" to chill or coming together around a big table or sofa to chat. Just four adults in our group who were interested in relaxing indoors and hiking/touring around the beautiful countryside. Were so distracted by all the location had to offer that the TV wasn't ever used! While the house and property are outstanding, a bonus was the house facing east which was perfect for watching the sunrise come up across the lake. Location was excellent to be out from hustle and bustle, but yet just a few miles to the small city that had shopping, dining, and great lobster rolls + ice cream shops. This unit is definitely staying on our list as a place to return to in the future.

This home was every bit as gorgeous as it appears in the photos, and the surrounding grounds and lake are even lovelier than promised. We loved the region, especially downtown Littleton and the neighbors were all friendly and helpful. We're looking forward to staying in this region again in the future, but we will not ever book with Vacasa again. First impressions: the house was beautiful, sunny and well appointed as far as towels went. However, there were a few obvious issues from the get-go. First, the bed in the master bedroom was broken upon arrival. We were still able to use it, but it felt unsafe, and it was uncomfortable and extremely noisy. Then in the living room, we discovered that the disproportionately small television (not a big deal, it just looked kind of silly on the large wall) had no remote control anywhere to be found. The next issue was that, in preparation for a 10 day stay at $700+ a night, Vacasa only saw fit to leave us 3 dishwasher pods, a 4 oz bottle of dishwashing fluid, and 3 garbage bags. The garbage issue was compounded when we realized we could not find find any outdoor garbage cans, nor any instructions with what to do with the garbage. We called Vacasa to ask for assistance and they told us they would bring out some outdoor garbage containers for us to use, and also info about where we could find the TV remote or if they could supply one. It took days before they took any steps to address these issues. While we waited for them to arrive with garbage cans, we finally caved and had to put our garbage outside to avoid smelling up the house, and animals got into it, so we spent one of our vacation mornings cleaning that up. Finally, halfway through our time at the house, they arrived with a remote control and batteries and told us the garbage cans we needed had actually been in the shed only accessible by a hidden key the whole time. The oven took literally hours to come up to temperature, and we still aren't sure if it was broken or just inefficient. The icemaker in the fridge also didn't work. The propane tank was nearly empty and a new one had to be brought out with the remote control. And while the house smelled clean upon arrival, the sunroom was covered in crumbs, which was strange. In short, this is a gorgeous property and despite the many irritations that came up because of poor/neglectful management, we had a lovely time. But honestly, I have paid much less for owner-run vacation houses that were cleaner, more well appointed and more helpfully managed. Vacasa did this house a disservice by cutting corners in ridiculous ways, like not giving us basic information or items like sufficient garbage bags. Forest Lake is a lovely place, but be mindful of who you book with when you stay there.
