Your home in Cockle Bay

The pictures are accurate. The beds were super comfortable, the bathroom was well appointed, the place was lovely and clean and tidy, the heat pump was efficient, there was a heated towel rail in the bathroom (bonus!), the host was very communicative and helpful. There was a nice dining table with 4 chairs and a fruit bowl with tasty oranges in it. The fridge/freezer was very roomy. There were plenty of glasses, cups and plates and cooking equipment. The sofa bed was already prepared for sleep for us, which was much appreciated. The conduction oven was a mystery to me (having not used one before) - some instructions would be helpful (I figured it out eventually). Despite this being a converted garage under the main house, it was very quiet above in the main house. It is on a corner of a main road but the road wasn't too busy on a Thursday and Friday night.

The bedroom has only white vertical blinds over the windows, so it's very bright when you wake up to a sunny day (having blackout curtains would have been amazing - a big ask though, I know). The floor was uncarpeted throughout and it was pretty cold when we arrived (so we needed the heat pump warmth quickly). The bathroom was the size of an ensuite (nicely appointed though) - the sink was so narrow that, when leaning forward to wash your face, your head hits the mirror and the water splashes onto the floor. The bathroom could do with some shelves (there was plenty of wall space for them) - all our toiletry bags etc we had to put on the floor. The towels provided were very rough (but clean, yay). Once the sofa bed was being used for sleep, there were no other places to sit apart from the dining chairs. After the first night, we asked for more blankets, which were there on our return - having them available on the first night would have been awesome though. Honestly, there was more good than bad. Fixing these things mentioned would take the accommodation from great to exceptional :)

Lots of obvious things were missing. No tea towels, no teaspoons, no breakfast bowls (just 2 tiny rice bowls). The place smelt quite musty.
