    I stay here pretty much every time I come to Melbourne. Great place, super stylish. My only gripe is there needs to be a dedicated table to work from. A few times I got kicked off the table I was working from for group bookings or to put on a pastry display? Unfortunately I need to work when I travel, it's a part of life and it needs to be part of the hotel I stay at.

    Great stay at the StandardX in Fitzroy. Room was great, spacious and clean. The staff bath front desk and restaurant were exceptional. I loved the friendly, happy banter between staff members. The rooftop bar was fun, great view and great, happy hour oysters! Look forward to our next stay.

    I was highly anticipating my stay at this hotel due to its excellent design and very cool, edgy aesthetic. Visually, the hotel delivers, but unfortunately, the overall experience did not live up to expectations, especially considering the price point. Coming from Bali, my expectations for hospitality might be high, but the service here felt lacking. Breakfast service was dull; the staff seemed more interested in chatting with each other than attending to guests, giving off the impression that they just wanted the shift to end. Convenience was also an issue. Having to go down to the hotel shop just to get minibar items was a hassle. Furthermore, during my three-night stay, my room was never cleaned. Housekeeping offered to clean once when I was leaving the room within an hour, but they never returned.For the price, the room was very small, and the carpets already showed noticeable stains. It is a beautiful property, but the service delivery and room maintenance need significant improvement to match the premium cost.
