Ruchi House

I had a lovely stay at Ruchi House! The atmosphere was cosy and homely, and the accommodation was very spacious, with three bedrooms, although I only used one. The hosts, Sunny and Salangi, were very kind and welcoming. They prepared delicious breakfasts and lunches, which I happily ordered from them during my stay. Sunny also organised a wonderful excursion to a waterfall and a scenic viewpoint, and even drove me to the bus station after check-out. Thank you, Sunny and Salangi, for your warm hospitality! I was very happy with my stay and would gladly recommend Ruchi House.

They offered free pick up from bus/train station , which is very helpful. The accomodation is quite far from the city but it was totally fine for someone like me who just stayed for one night and was about to take a morning train to Ella the next day. The host also helped arrange tuk tuk transfer to Nanu Oya Train Station at a cost. Room is spacious and clean. A hot shower is available.

The room is next to a street so there was noise. Though i slept pretty well with my ear buds on.

This is one of the best stays of our Sri Lanka tour. There were a few exceptional things I must mention. 1. The only stay out of 11 places who provided slippers, for room and for washroom! I can't say enough about how important it is for my comfort! 2. It's a colonial house! At first it looked old and British style but whenever we got a tour of the house with historical explanation, it blew our mind! 3. They were such amazing hosts! Anytime we needed anything, they rushed to us. We booked their tuktuk to go to the train station, the gentleman was with us till we found seats in the train! 4. They got filtered drinking water right from the Lovers Leap waterfall! That was an experience! 5. If you're a Muslim, you can find a mosque at walking distance. Around 500m from the house. I can't praise them enough. Such an amazing stay! Close to the Lovers Leap Waterfall. We hiked there to enjoy nature. Recommended. If I ever come back to the city, this place will definitely be on my list. Note: book the family room if you want a full colonial vibe. I wish I knew it earlier.

Location was great. Host was so warm and helpful.

Quite noisy outside, but it died down later on.
