La Casa delle Tradizioni

Location amazing in a pedestrian street in old town Bari.Restuarants and bars in immediate vicinity. Very cute three level terrace apartment on Bari's famous pasta making street. Loads of atmosphere.

Steep stairway and small bathrooms but necessary tradeoff for location which requires a very short walk with luggage (our taxi driver dropped us at the right location (Piazza Federico), but it could be difficult if you were dropped at the other end of the Street).

We were literally on the street of nonnas! We arrived and watched some pasta being made and excused some people also watching, to let us in the front door! A very quaint old apartment that has been tastefully renovated. There was an issue with a water pump, so we had to let a plumber in to replace it which was a bit unfortunate timing, but we got through it. If you are planning on staying here, be mindful that there are very steep stairs to climb to get to the bedroom and bathroom. Fortunately we were able to park close by, as the small lane ways and then all the stairs could be an issue for a lot of travellers. The parking instructions were very good and clear, which helped us a lot.

The steep narrow stairs and our big Aussie feet! We needed to walk backwards down them to feel.safe. the other issue is the bright lights in the street that stay on all night, and there are only very sheer curtains on the windows and that do not completely cover the area. Some heavier curtains would be our recommendation, this would also save on the air-conditioning usage to try and cool the apartment down
