Akuaippa hotel was lovely. We very much enjoyed our stay. The rooms were exactly as shown in the pictures. Everything was clean and well maintained. The host Maria was very helpful. We don't speak Spanish, but we were able to communicate using Google translate. The wifi was great, no issues. The food was good, simple fare with large portions. They had beer, alcohol, and water available. The pool was lovely and refreshing. There are several seating areas and pool tables available for guests to enjoy. We were the only ones staying at the hotel, and hope that this very good review will encourage you to stay here.
From Calabazo, Maria arranged a car to take us to the El Zaino entrance of Tayrona Park. On the way home we caught the local bus for 4,000 pesos each. The local buses are very frequent and perfectly serviceable. The bus stopped just 30 meters from the hotel entrance.
Maria also helped us arrange a car back to the Marsol office in Santa Marta when our time in Calabazo was over.
