The hosts were kind and friendly. The apartment is close to the Vatican, about a 20-minute walk. It is clean, tidy, and has everything needed for a few days in Rome. We had an issue with the keys (when we were leaving, instead of putting the keys back in the safe box outside of the building, where we had picked them up, we left them inside the apartment and closed the door, which locks automatically). The hosts didn’t make a problem about it—I assume they have a spare set of keys. When leaving the building, the main door of the building can be opened either by pressing a button (as we had done on previous days) or with a key. Of course, as it usually happens, once we closed the apartment door with the keys inside, the button didn’t work, and the only way out was with a key—while our taxi was already waiting to take us to the airport. Unfortunately, it was 6 a.m., and we couldn’t reach any of the hosts (understandably, people are asleep at that time), so we had to ring doorbells throughout the building (at 6 in the morning!!!) until a kind lady finally opened the door for us and lent us a key so we could get out. So make sure to listen to the hosts when they tell you to leave the keys in the safe box outside. 🙂

The first thing to note is that the apartment is in the basement with fairly narrow stairs, so elderly guests or people with small children may have difficulty entering. Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, the apartment is very damp, and there is often a strong smell that can only be temporarily reduced by using a dehumidifier and the air conditioner. The apartment is located in a quiet area near the Vatican City, as mentioned earlier, but it is on a hill, and the last 500 meters are very steep—especially after a full day of walking—so again, not ideal for elderly guests or those with small children. On our previous trips to Rome, we would usually take a break, return to the apartment, and head out again in the afternoon. That wasn’t really an option here. 🙂

Le lit est confortable et il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour un court séjour.

L'appartement est beaucoup trop humide, l'odeur est forte même avec les fenêtres ouvertes.

a mio avviso la posizione del palazzo in cui si trova il b&b è il maggior punto di forza, a pochi minuti da san pietro e a mezz'ora da piazza navona, molto apprezzata la pulizia dei locali , lenzuola e asciugamani in buono stato, il locale è in buone condizioni, ottimo funzionamento riscaldamenti con termostato, facile check-in con il box

l'alloggio è in un seminterrato, l'unica via di uscita è la porta di ingresso; da segnalare il bagno chiuso ; in generale le scale e i pianerottoli del palazzo meriterebbero una maggiore pulizia

Per visitare Roma con la famiglia ho scelto questo appartamento anche per la posizione in cui si trova che è molto vicina a San Pietro e molte altre parti storiche della Capitale per cui ci è stato facile programmare belle camminate alla scoperta della città e del Vaticano. Prima e durante l’arrivo la comunicazione con il gestore e il suo staff è stata molto buona e il ceck-in non ha avuto nessun problema.

Per raggiungere l’appartamento a piedi, si deve percorrere una discreta salita di circa cinquecento metri, non adatta a chi ha difficoltà di deambulazione o ha chi ha passeggini o bagagli ingombranti. La descrizione ricevuta sull’appartamento che è carino, pulito e discretamente ben arredato, era abbastanza corretta tranne per il fatto che si trova in un seminterrato mentre nella descrizione rilasciata su Booking viene descritto in lingua italiana come ubicato al piano terra, solo alla fine di tutta la descrizione si trova in lingua inglese la dicitura “Please note that the apartment is located in the basement” in contrasto quindi con quanto indicato nella descrizione principale. Le scale in discesa che conducono all’ingresso erano in discrete condizioni ma con evidenti scrostature sulle pareti. Il portoncino di accesso all’appartamento si apriva e chiudeva con grande difficoltà (problematica che ci era stata segnalata dal gestore prima dell’arrivo). Appena entrati nell’appartamento abbiamo riscontrato odore di muffa e presenza di umidità, dopo esserci sistemati abbiamo notato che la porta del bagno e della camera da letto non chiudevano in quanto la parte inferiore dei rispettivi telai era rigonfia e deformata. Il bagno a cui si accede direttamente dalla camera da letto è senza finestre e la sua aereazione, affidata ad un ventilatore, non era ottimale in quanto il suo effetto veniva vanificato dalla porta che non chiudeva. Purtroppo umidità e muffe erano anche presenti sull’armadio della camera da letto che era rovinato nella parte inferiore. Scrostature e rigonfiamenti nella pittura murale erano evidenti anche in altri punti sul perimetro inferiore delle pareti. Per ovviare parzialmente ai problemi descritti abbiamo dovuto accendere il deumidificatore e i due condizionatori presenti nelle stanze. L'appartamento per la sua disposizione è poco luminoso e purtroppo il problema dell'umidità presente è una notevole criticità.
