Nice house but filthy

Location was ok

The house had not been cleaned. On arrival the carpets were stained and full of bits. The kitchen work tops were covered in food as was the hob and the splash backs. Water still in the kettle from previous guests. Plug sockets damaged. The living room was dusty to the point someone had wrote “clean me” in the dust. Also not hoovered. Please note there are ring video cameras at the front and rear of the property. This is not disclosed in description contrary to booking.com policy. If I had of known as a female alone in the properly during the day I wouldn’t have stayed. Beds were clean and comfy. Strange that’s there are locks on the outside of the bedroom doors and one even has a chain on that someone has obviously wrenched of the wall, same with the front door. Also no city views as mentioned in description - not that this mattered. They do provide a desk but no chair, the host said you can bring a kitchen chair into the living room if needed - not ideal. I spoke to host about all issues and she agreed to refund the cleaning fee but when I chase the refund up she said she had to wait to get paid off booking.com - I told her to forget it. The host initially said it had been cleaned but then alluded that it hadn’t as she doesn’t make much money after booking.com have taken their fee. The least I expect is a clean property. Also I noticed the hosts have a business registered to this property and it may be a coincidence but 3 of the really good reviews are the same name as the hosts! The house itself is nice but needs a lot of love and a good clean.

Needs updating and new flooring through out and fix all damaged items or let guests know before hand

Big spacious house lots of room

Damaged kitchen work surfaces missing chunks damaged plate cupboard not repaired and about 20 miss matched plates all piled up makes it hard to access what you need carpets stained and iron burns all over house host uses rugs to try and disguise some of these paid for 8 people to stay and left 5 towels some of which were damp called owner she come and gave three towels which clearly had been put away damp and were absolutely vile smelling I had to wash these twice before use not one towel matched and all had marks on them left the house in same condition arrived to it and owner has sent a message saying I owe 60 for extra cleaning fee for dirty towels and a marked wall? The whole house needs pained and freshed up with new carpets through out and work surfaces as are all damaged the bath plug is one of the push down ones that didn’t work this was not mentioned but the host and with young children a major inconvenience the showers are not powerful at all either the host also has the heating off and hides the remote to turn it on we were absolutely freezing and had to sit up stairs in a cover to get some heat its winter and I found this absolutely shocking only when I said to the host it was freezing in the house that she then showed us the remote and we found the other one hidden in the upstairs bedroom cupboard for the heating upstairs glad I took pictures on arrival to dispute with booking.com also most of the good reviews for this house seem to be made by the owner go back some and you will find that for a number of years carpets have needed replacing same issues with dirt ect

Very large property and everything you needed. Quite location. Only thing u didn't like is all the bedrooms are locked as your paying for a five bedroom house
