Chiang Mai Slow time

Welcome is very good and the landlord very efficient

The location is initially difficult to find. Google maps did not find it and booking.com takes you to the back of the building, the entrance is through a side street though. Once found the location is tranquil and authentic. There is a Thai boxing gym in the premises and also a cafe. The room is basic with an outdoor kitchen facility with very basic amenities but it really fits with the atmosphere of the accommodation. The pool is small but good enough to cool down in the afternoon. There are two local supermarkets on walking distance. There are several street food stalls at walking distance. We would recommend a local restaurant called Lala's that serves halal food if that's relevant for you. Also Aba's restaurant was very good, we ate there several times. The manager of the accommodation Nancy is approachable and kind, but busy, it helps that she lives on the premises. The manager provided some mosquito remedies but it helps to have the legendary pink spray from 7/11. There is free parking if you have a rental car. You can walk to the main square. A taxi will only cost 30 to 50 baht to the centre. We really enjoyed the Saturday market. We visited the escape room - overpriced. We visited the Royal Gardens - pleasant half day but the heat hurts. We drove to the highest point of Thailand in the national park and enjoyed one of the waterfall, but beware they don't tell you how far dispersed the various sightseeing spots are and really you should plan a full 8-10 hours in the park. It is costly to just get in and we only had a couple of hours before they started to shut the walkway access to some of the attractions. We drove to Chiang Rai - you can do all the 3 temples and the town of Chiang Rai in a day trip.

The pool could be a bit better maintained. The grounds are overgrown. One of our beds had an older mattress and you could feel the spring.

de omgeving buiten kan wat netter en beter onderhouden worden (NIET de kamer, die was top !)

We hadden deze locatie geboekt voor 1 nacht voor onze vlucht. Locatie is goed. Verder is er alles wat je nodig hebt.

Er lagen doden muggen op het bed. De handdoeken hadden vlekken. Hierdoor voelde het niet hygiënisch.
