What a wonderful house in a fantastic location. The villa is situated in a quiet residential area of Saint-Germain-sur-Ay, right next to the dunes – perfect for long walks, even all the way to the other coast. The beach is just a 5-minute walk away and is wide, peaceful, and dog-friendly. The house itself has everything you need: a comfortable living area, a spacious open kitchen fully equipped with everything imaginable, a utility room, and clean, modern bathrooms. Upstairs there’s a lovely seating area on the landing with a view over the nature reserve. Everything was spotless, and the large fenced garden was perfect for my dog. We had all kinds of weather, including a heatwave, and to my surprise there was air conditioning – such a relief, especially for my dog, as walking to the beach was too hot at times. The host, Laura, was amazing – always quick to respond and very helpful. If you’re looking for space and quiet, especially outside the high season, this place is a gem.
Honestly, I can’t think of anything. Just be aware that local facilities are limited – the village has a small supermarket and a couple of restaurants, but the local butcher and bakery were closed (I assume they only open during the high season – I stayed in the second half of June). Larger supermarkets are about 15 minutes away by car.
