Minara Private Boutique Game Lodge

My husband and I recently stayed at Minara Private Boutique Game Lodge for a much-needed getaway, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, private, and thoughtfully curated. The room was beautiful, the surroundings were breathtaking, and the atmosphere made it so easy to slow down and simply enjoy being together. Our absolute favourite part of the stay was the wood-fired hot tub. We spent so much time in it! There was something incredibly special about soaking in the perfectly warm water while the crisp winter air surrounded us. It was such a unique experience and honestly one of the highlights of our entire trip. Thank you, Minara, for such a memorable stay. We'll definitely be back, and we'll be recommending it to anyone looking for a romantic bush getaway.

A small tip for future guests would be some guidance on heating the wood-fired hot tub. We took a little while to get the hang of it, but once we did, it was hands down our favourite part of the entire stay!

The pool is not heated.

The property is well furnished with comfortable bedding, towels and various seating. The unit was very clean and easy to maintain.

There are a number of design flaws that make the unit impractical for a longer stay. For example: curtains that cannot be closed due to an aircon unit fitted in the window frame, a pool that overflows onto the patio every time you swim and kitchen bar stools that cannot be sat on due to the kitchen counter being low. We were allocated “Farmhouse” during our stay which is located close to the entrance gate. As the property is unmanned we had to endure several instances when new guests or visitors arrived not knowing how to enter the property and had people hooting / shouting / calling out for assistance. Located close to the road we also had a neighbour cutting their front grass with a weed-eater the whole Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. At the rate charged per night, it would normally include daily housekeeping. This had to be paid for separately. Housekeeping also did not have their own set of keys to access the property and we had to leave the unit unlocked to give them access. Whilst the unit and property have been well kitted out, there needs to be some focus on the practical use of the facilities and some thought applied to the unmanned property model.
