A perfect location away from noise and congestion with a unique view
Perfect for some relaxing days
The transportation to get out of the villa has to be reserved ( we called some taxis company at the time we wanted to go out and in 2 occasions r not available.

The location and views are stunning. Absolute million-dollar view overlooking Capri. The house harks back to the age of the golden 40s, or even the era predating talkies, with tiled floors, outdoor terrazzo, lovely antique furniture and fixtures. The rooms are very spacious. It was lovely to sit on one of the balconies and watch the sunset over the Santorini coastline. The indoor staircase was like something out of Sunset Boulevard, as was the house. There was a washing machine. The host was very helpful, even ferrying one of us back on his motorbike after we returned our rental car. He also proposed a wonderful, private cruise to Amalfi, although there would be cheaper ways of doing this, unless you're a bigger group.
It was a genuine experience of living in a 40s Italian villa, with the electrics and plumbing sadly in need of a lot of maintenance or renovation. We found that some of the power-points were wired into the bedside lights (after wondering why our devices were flat in the morning) so that turning off the lights turned off the power. Standard European plugs didn't always fit. Unplugging the iron also pulled the power-point from the wall. The kitchen kettle was hopeless for a house for up to 7 people. The water pressure in the showers was poor. The shower over the bath wouldn't stay on without being held and the plug for the bath didn't work. While it was lovely sitting on the living area balcony, water dripping from above (airconditioner pipes) made it tricky to position oneself in a group. A highlight for me was being locked in the upstairs bathroom when the lock jammed (eventually I was able to pass the key to someone on the outside and it worked from there). The beds weren't particularly comfortable, although we slept well after long days at activities. While not far from Sorrento, access is not great, and the narrow, poorly maintained driveway is frightening (like the traffic in Italy). Even the transfer drivers were concerned. We ended up leaving two days early, losing 2 days rent, although part of this was logistical for some members of the group. Was it all worth the price? Depends on how much you love stunning views and need space, and perhaps want a genuine yesteryear experience.
