A real gem in Koh Yao Noi

One of the best places I've had the luck to stay at. Pom and her family and very nice people, the accommodation is simple in the best way, clean and comfortable. Super good pancakes and great juice for breakfast in the morning. The location is unreal of you like nature and calm. Thank you!

Absolute gem with incredible Hosts

My stay at this stilt house was nothing short of perfect. It offered a unique, authentic and deeply relaxing experience that I will remember for a long time. The accommodation itself was fantastic. The house is spacious, very well designed and features a wonderful balcony. The view from there was a daily spectacle -overlooking a pond with crabs and fish. Watching the crab life from my own balcony was a uniquely peaceful and fascinating activity. The location is exceptional for those seeking authenticity. It's set in a local fishing village that feels incredibly genuine and untouched by mass tourism. The true heart of this place, however, are the owners. They are very positive, kind and helpful. Owners offer a range of services, including renting a scooter at a very attractive price (highly recommended for exploring the island, especially if you want to reach to the best beaches of the island) and organizing tours or transport. The communication on site and via whatsapp was very smooth. Do not miss ordering meals here! The food prepared by the owner is absolutely delicious, generous and offers great value. Sharing meal is also a chance to spend time with the wonderful hosts, learn more about the area and feel truly welcomed. The property has several adorable resident cats, the common areas are clean and well kept. Dining area has a great vibe, there you can prepare free coffee/tea. In summary, this is a charming, special place run by brilliant hosts. It offers a perfect blend of comfortable accommodation, authentic location, delicious food and local insight. My highest possible recommendation. It’s a must stay for an authentic and heartwarming experience.

Beautiful nature and fantastic hosts

Big hug homestay was a highlight of our trip. The location is surrounded by nature, calm and beautiful. Pom and Pet were fantastic hosts and we loved spending time with them. They cooked delicious home style seafood for dinner which we ate together - Pom buys direct from the fishermen on their way back from fishing so it was the freshest fish we had the whole trip! The rooms are simple but beautiful, we especially loved the outside living room spaces they had created, perfect in rain or sun. Despite the rooms being over the water, mosquitos weren’t a big issue, but bear in mind this is a completely natural place which means you should be prepared to experience all the wildlife of the mangroves (from hornbills to ants and everything in between!). The location was great, a nice stroll from the nearby town where there are cute cafes shops and restaurants. And we also walked to an empty beach nearby and took out their kayaks one day (we didn’t have scooters but they are available to rent also). They helped with every step, making everything easy and relaxed. We stayed 3 nights but could have easily stayed longer. We hope to be back next time we are in Thailand ! Shared bathroom was attached to our house so everybody’s presence (and smell) was noted. Small red ants somehow managed to get in the bed.

Peaceful

We booked for three nights and we stayed for three nights more. The place is so peaceful and beautiful on riverside and the island is a paradise. When it rains it's so relaxing staying in the house. The staff are so kind, Pom let us stay in a big private house at same price of just the room just because we wanted to stay more. Thank you so much for opening your house to us!

A Hidden Paradise Full of Heart and Nature

We booked two nights and ended up staying much longer — that’s how special Big Hug Home is. Pom has created a true paradise filled with love, creativity, and care. The open, airy rooms are peaceful and comfortable, surrounded by nature’s sounds, and we loved falling asleep to the sound of rain on the roof. Pom is one of the most inspiring people we’ve ever met — kind, artistic, and full of warmth. Her home-cooked meals were amazing (we even tasted her home-grown seaweed!), and her family made us feel right at home. Tucked away near the river, it’s quiet and surrounded by nature, yet easy to get around by scooter or local taxi. Kayaking through the mangroves was a highlight. Thank you, Pom, for everything — we’ll never forget our time here. 🌸

I would love to come back and stay! I learned so much!

I loved staying here! Pom, the owner, told me about how she farms this ocean pond on the property with fish, tiger prawns, horseshoe crab, seaweed and sea cucumbers! She sells them at market. She showed me the whole process! The room was super unique and beautiful over the pond. She serves an inexpensive breakfast in the morning.

A magic experience!

Super accomodation for people who like a simple and true local's experience. We loved the position and the colours of our bedroom, we loved pancake with banana at the morning (breakfast options ) and we loved the cats of the restaurant. We're gratefull for these days , we'll came back !!!

Séjour dépaysant avec un retour au sources ! Je recommande vivement

Le logement est très dépaysant et Pom l’hôte est adorable et toujours souriante.

L’eau de la douche est très froide mais je pense que c’est partout en Thaïlande malheureusement et les voisins des autres cabanes passaient devant sur notre terrasse pour accéder à la leur.

Le personnel était sympa, bouteille d’eau offerte dans le frigo à l’arrivée. Café était à volonté. Présence d’une terrasse/balcon pour mon hébergement avec un lit extérieur. Mon hébergement et l’ensemble des autres se trouvait sur un petit lac. Proposition d’un petit déjeuner et de plats pour déjeuner.

Il manquait, éventuellement une petite clim, néanmoins le cadre fait que ce n’est pas forcément possible, présence d’un ventilateur à souligner.

Pom es encantadora, super amable y simpática. Nos facilitó su número de teléfono por si necesitábamos alguna cosa mientras estábamos en la isla. Había agua caliente y papel wc, lo que se agradece mucho.

Mucha luz y ruido en la cabañita ya que no estaba completamente cerrada. Nos levantamos varias veces en la noche. Muy caro para lo que es. Nuestra habitación no se podía cerrar con llave, así que la dejábamos todo el día abierta, aunque no nos faltó nada.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Nous aurions aimé rester plus. Pom et sa famille sont super! Pom a été là pour nous lorsque nous avions eu un problème. Nous la remercions infiniment. La cadre est génial et authentique. La chambre est bien. Le repas a été excellent et copieux !!

Une poubelle dans la chambre et un lavabo dans les sanitaires serait un plus :)
