Seneca Lake Serenity

The property was very dog, friendly, and very clean. We found the kitchen to be very well appointed making meal preparation smooth.

A few items led to our score of seven, first the sulfur smell is quite strong when you first get to the property. Second, the upstairs sofa sleeper mattress is very uncomfortable and would greatly be improved by a mattress topper. Third, the grass was in need of being mowed. All improvements that would’ve made the score a bit higher.

The location of the property was great. It was very quiet and private. We could hear cows at night, which made us smile. The bed in the downstairs bedroom was really so comfortable! The owner provided everything we could need. We bought milk for our coffee (we brought our own coffee, but owner had provided the filters for the coffee maker), and food while we were out and about, but that's all we needed.

The coffee maker ... we clocked it and it took an hour and 15 minutes to brew a half pot of coffee. The machine looked to be in great shape, but maybe they need a new one? The loft - it was me and my sister in the house, and I planned to sleep in the loft. However, the stairs were extremely steep (more like a carpeted ladder), we didn't think it would be safe if I had to get up to use the bathroom during the night. So renter beware if you have very little children or older adults, they may not be able to safely manage getting up & down the stairs. As another renter noted, there was a smell of sulfur when running the water, however it wasn't that bad, you certainly didn't feel that you weren't clean after showering.

Needs a new mattress in loft.

We drove through a snowstorm to get there and it was wonderful to walk into a spacious, warm and comfortable space! The location was fabulous - especially good for Winter gorge walks, and some exploration of the national parks. The space itself is set up beautifully and the rooms are a wonderful size. We made our first home cooked meals of the trip, which was such a wonderful bonus - the kitchen was quite kitted out (a pleasant surprise!). Overall it was a great and comfortable stay! Thank you :)

The water temperature was not great. We had quite a limited amount of hot water, which meant we couldn't have two showers after one another or after washing up. Not a big issue but just part of our experience.
