Welcome to The Butler. A true piece of history. This downtown Tempe location directly across the street from Arizona State University and Tempe's Mill Avenue. Within walking distance of Tempe Town Lake and Beach Park, which is home to many outdoor concerts, festivals, and races. 100+ restaurants within a 1/2 mile radius. 4 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

Maple-Ash is an enclave of single-family homes in Tempe just south of the bustling Mill Avenue district and west of the ASU Tempe campus. It's Tempe's oldest remaining neighborhood and stretches from University Drive south to Hudson Lane, and from Mill Avenue east to the railroad tracks just past Ash Avenue.

We may be situated on a bustling street, but trust me, it's worth the excitement. You'll love the energy and vibrancy of our location.

We are located in beautiful downtown Tempe, AZ. Minutes from ASU, Gammage Theater, Mill Ave., Tempe Town Lake, Phoenix sports arenas, local shopping, dining, and more!

Tempe is synonymous with two things — Arizona State University and Mill Avenue. Both are just a quaint stroll away from Maple-Ash. Whether the university is the destination, or a night of dining and/or dancing on Mill Avenue, there's no need to drive a car to enjoy the area. Just about everything can be enjoyed on foot or with a bicycle. And beyond the neighborhood, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is only a few minutes’ drive away, while Phoenix and the cities of the East Valley are accessible in just 15 or so minutes via one of the Valley’s freeways.

The garage is free for guests to use for cars or to place personal belongings. Please note, the garage was built over 80 years ago and is small by modern standards. Some medium-sized cars and larger SUVs/trucks will not be able to fit through the doors. There is driveway parking as well.

Light Rail:
Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is only 4 miles away. The light rail can take you to/from the airport to the Mill Ave stop, which is less than a mile away (might be a bit far if carrying luggage). The light rail can also take you to/from downtown Phoenix and downtown Mesa.

Uber/Lyft:
About $12-$20 to/from the airport.

Electric Scooters/Bikes: There are scooter “nest” locations down the street just a few hundred feet away.

Walking: ASU, Mill Ave Restaurants/Bars, Tempe Town Lake, Gammage Auditorium, ASU Art Museum, Whole Foods, CVS, Core Power Yoga, and many other locations are just a 5-10 minute walk away.


HOUSE RULES & IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please take a moment to read through the following before booking. We want your stay to be enjoyable and stress-free for everyone.

🎉 NO PARTIES OR EVENTS-
State law strictly prohibits parties or events at this property. This is a residential neighborhood, and we kindly ask all guests to be respectful of our neighbors. Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
The home is equipped with Noise Aware, a noise monitoring device, which measures decibel levels only- it does not record audio or video. We will be notified if noise exceeds acceptable limits. Please be aware that violating local noise ordinances carries an initial fine of $2,000.

📷 SECURITY CAMERAS
For the safety of guests and the property, we have a doorbell camera and cameras on the exterior sides of the home facing the gates. There are no cameras inside the home.

✅ RENTAL AGREEMENT and GOVERNMENT ID – REQUIRED
This property requires a rental agreement and a government-issued ID within 24 hours of booking. Your reservation is not confirmed until verification is completed. Access will not be provided without successful completion.
As part of verification, guests will be asked to:
• Submit a valid government-issued ID
• Sign a Rental Agreement and Pre-arrival Form
The ID must match the primary guest's name on the reservation.

⚠️ CANCELLATION POLICY RELATED TO VERIFICATION
If you choose not to complete verification, please cancel your reservation yourself within 24 hours of booking to receive a full refund (if eligible under the cancellation policy).
Refunds will not be issued for cancellations resulting from a refusal, delay, or failure to complete verification after that window. We are unable to cancel reservations on behalf of guests who do not complete this step.

I, and all of my housemates greatly enjoyed our stay at The Butler House. It is quite apparent that a lot of effort has been put into the place. It was very clean, and everything worked. Way more tools in the kitchen than I could use in a week and comfortable furniture placed throughout the house in a pleasing manner. Access to Tempe was so easy. Jackie did a great job communicating with me before, during and after my stay. If I am back in the Tempe area, I will look to book The Butler House again.

The house was clean and comfortable. If it hadn’t been raining the small sitting area out back would have been nice. The property is a short drive or a long walk to ASU sports. No complaints. Would definitely recommend.

The cutest home with a touch of class. My husband is not easily impressed and he really enjoyed the small touches (chips and dip) upon arrival. Close proximity to ASU and downtown night life.
