The house itself was very clean and beautiful, with amazing mountain and sea views. It is conveniently located at Chalkiotata, a small and quiet village near Sami, which is the port you arrive at if you take the ferry from Astakos. The location is ideal for visiting Melissani lake, Drogarati cave, the seaside village of Agia Efimia, as well as the popular villages of Assos and Fiskardo. The most beautiful beaches in the northern part of the island, including the famous Myrtos beach can also be easily reached. Argostoli is only half an hour drive from Chalkiotata. Also, thanks to the tips provided by the house owner, I got to experience Kefalonia like a local!
