Unfortunately, our experience at The Hive was very disappointing, mainly due to extremely poor communication and a very stressful check-in process.
Before arrival, responses from the host took hours, sometimes most of the day, which made it difficult to plan properly. Simple questions about access and timing were not answered promptly, and we had to repeatedly follow up to get basic information. This created unnecessary stress before we even arrived.
The check-in itself was chaotic and badly organized. We were not given clear instructions, there was confusion about access, and we were left waiting without clear guidance. After a long journey, this was the last thing we expected. The entire arrival experience felt unprofessional and poorly managed.
Breakfast was another major disappointment. The quality was poor, the selection was limited, and our specific requests were not acknowledged or followed despite being communicated in advance. It felt like guest preferences were simply ignored.
Overall, the lack of communication and organization significantly impacted our stay. With better management, responsiveness, and attention to guest requests, this property could improve — but based on our experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

Cleanliness. There were hairs on the towel rod. The water dispenser was confusing and did not have any facility to topple the water can for usage. Also there was no entertainment since the TV did not connect to the WiFi nor there was any cable.

Amazing location
The flies around the pool weee so bad we had to leave.
No balcony furniture, clothes airer for the wet clothes/washing, only 3 towels for 3 people for the 6 days, no kettle

Location
We booked and paid for a two-bedroom apartment with six beds, as clearly stated in our Booking.com confirmation. The unit description included one queen bed, a second bedroom with bunk beds, and a sofa bed.
Upon arrival, we were instead given a one-bedroom apartment with only one queen bed and a sofa bed. This was not the accommodation we reserved or paid for.
Before check-in, the property requested passports for all guests. We submitted six passports, and the property confirmed everything was “all set.” At no point did anyone flag an issue with the number of guests or the unit assignment. If there had been a problem, it should have been addressed then—not after arrival.
When we raised the issue, the property dismissed the concern and offered only free bedding for the sofa bed, which does not resolve being placed in a completely different and smaller apartment than what was booked. After we explained this, they stopped responding altogether.
This was not a guest-count issue. It was a clear mismatch between the confirmed booking and the apartment provided, and the lack of accountability and communication made the situation worse.
I recommend future guests carefully document everything and be prepared to escalate through Booking.com if the unit provided does not match the confirmation. Thankfully, I had screenshots of my correspondence with the company.

Community is good
The host was a disaster.
He told me I would find an access card on the table, which was not there and was never provided during my entire stay.
The host also claimed that there was free private parking available, but this was not true. Although parking exists, you end up paying 100 per day. Anyone visiting you also has to pay the same amount.
Overall, I do not think the place is worth the price, considering the daily parking cost and the fact that the host was not responsive.

I did not receive any information about my stay until the very last night, during which time I was on the flight, so only got the information needed after I landed.
The building entrance and the parking require an Access Card, this was not provided, this meant that I had to press a button every time I go in and speak to some security personnel explain that I don't have the access card.
Trying to call Hive is another problem, most of the time they do not pick up the phone. When asked about the Access Card, they did not care, and just said "no worries, just press the button and security will open for you"

1/5 – Very disappointing stay
I had a terrible experience at this hotel. First, they told me that the parking was free, but I kept getting charged for it without any explanation. I ended up losing money because of their mistakes, and the management did nothing to help or fix the issue.
On top of that, the room was not clean at all. It felt dirty, dusty, and definitely not ready for guests. For the price and location, I expected at least basic cleanliness, but even that was missing.
Overall, this hotel was a complete disappointment. Poor service, extra charges, and an unclean room — I would not recommend it to anyone.

The property was good and similar to what was described in the pics. It was a functional place to sleep at night and go out and about in the day. The working washing and a drying rack was a bonus.
The receptionist was horrible. Although we requested a few days before our arrival an early check in as our flight was to land early, we were told to speak to the receptionist on the day we land. The receptionist was extremely unhelpful and would not even listen to our request after we explained the at this was the advice given to us via Booking.com. The checkout was at 11 for the guest prior to us and so we requested her to get our room cleaned first since we were already there but she made every possible excuse to ensure we would not have the room until 3 pm. After multiple times of pleading and begging eventually at 1 pm she asked my husband to go up and check if the room was ready and then allowed us to enter the room. I have never met someone as unhelpful and unkind person like her knowing I had 2 young children who had been on an airplane for about 8 hours and been out of my own house for over 16 hours.

The flat was ideal size and location to my work ideal.
I was told the key and access cards were on the dining table - None were there. Key was in the door and after searching the whole flat I did not find an access card so had to communicate with either security or the concierge to enter anywhere.
Secondly communication with the renters is extremely difficult when booking through say Booking.com. The Hive need to make this easier and be more proactive.

The bath room drain is not working properly as well as Muslims shower is also broken and I think this is most important factor how the i
Falt owner can be ignored or the cleaning team can also ignored. Another small point I want to mentioned that the sink cap drain cap also missing which also not looks good when you are burshing your teeth or usually using for shaving.
Rest all good for money in this price and it will be more convenient if they apartment have attach bathroom

We had access to the property way before the access time we had requested. Amazing location as we visited the parks and Yas marina. My son loved the pool and the bed was huge. Great view of sea world from the balcony. When we visit the parks again, I will try to book with you. We loved the nearby shops and community areas, La Brioche is our favourite place to eat. Walking down the canal was beautiful too
Kitchen sink water took some time to warm up, we had to leave washing up in the sink as the water wasn’t warm enough. We don’t like leaving dishes unwashed, sorry about that but we had to be somewhere before 10:30am.

When I came inside, it was smelling bad, the floor was sticky, and the room was dirty, the sofa was bad for sleeping for my child. I started to look for hotels around yas park, but all hotels were sold out, and we had to stay here.

The location and facilities
The exhaust in the dining area was not working. Unit 702 The scent of the disinfectant is very strong, we could smell all over the place. We bought our own garbage bag to put all the garbage. The cutlery is not washed properly. We bought our own disposable spoon and fork and plates.

تم تسليم الشقة بعد انتهاء العامل من التنظيف في الساعه الرابعه والنصف عصرا.
وفي الساعه العاشره والنصف صباحا يأتي عامل التنظيف يطلب منا عمل تشيك اوت في 11 صباحا ليقوم بتنظيف الشقه !

Apartament wyglądał jak składzik. Telewizor w pudełku, mikrofalówka postawiona na środku, również w pudełku. Brak lodówki, indukcji, piekarnika, dystrybutor z wodą nie działał. Woda zimna. Materac w sypialni nadal w folii, brak przygotowanej pościeli pomimo zaznaczenia 3 osób w apartamencie. Poduszka i koldra nowa, nie wyjęta z fabrycznego opakowania, pościel również w worku. W rogu salonu szafka z zapasowymi przedmiotami do innych pokoi. W salonie serwerownia, chyba do całego pionu/piętra budynku. W aparatamencie czuć won świeżo malowanej farby.
