The Lodge, Monkstown

I had a lovely stay at the Lodge, the hosts were very friendly and helpful, providing information about places locally to go walking, go out to eat and even provided a suggested itinerary of activities to do in Cork when I asked which were excellent. My upstairs room had a stunning vista of the barley fields and neighbouring farmland. It was nice to stay in a small village just a short drive from Cork as it was very peaceful and felt safe, particularly as a solo traveller. The bed was comfy and it was very clean. Thanks for an awesome stay. Highly recommend

The floor was quite creaky, I was conscious of the people staying in the room below. The only thing which could have made the room better would be a small refrigerator so I could keep milk and yogurt cold to have for breakfast. I of course knew there wasn't one when I booked so it was no problem.

Bed was comfortable. First really good night’s sleep I’ve had since arriving from Australia a few days ago. Donal was great and gave me lots of good suggestions for my time there and as I continue my roadtrip around Ireland.

It was a little noisy when there was someone else staying upstairs but not too bad.
