Overall we loved staying at the Hawthorne Retreat! Management was very easy to work with and super accommodating! We had a graduation celebration weekend with 12 friends and family, 8 stayed on the premises. It was perfect. We had everything we needed to grill and hang out by the lake! I will advise that it is a rustic lake house so may be a bit more rough for someone looking for glam. The casita’s fridge is retro and very cool, but not appealing inside for food storage. Bring hair dryers and an iron if you need them, as there were none. I also suggest you bring your own pillows if you can. The supplied pillows are worn out and stained. Also, dish towels and a dish cleaning sponge or cloth were not provided. Nor were there small appliances like a mixer or a blender. Again, overall it was fantastic! We’d definitely stay here again! And, we recommend it for a great relaxing lake getaway!!!!

Beautiful and relaxing place . The small cabin makes you feel like you are in the middle of the mountains, it is a wonderful place.

We enjoyed the main house and lake; however there is definitely some maintenance needed. All of the outdoor chairs are broken and the steps to the main house need repair.
