About this apartment rental
We are a little, lively community at Quinta Salamandra, ! You will be living among nature, pets, birds , geckos and some other iguana in the sun . Our buildings are very tropical , lots of wood ladders, decks, and terraces. .We are in direct contact with nature . Fresh breeze all the time. If you dont expect something exclusive and fancy , and what you are looking for is to merge into authentic mexican community life, this is your place!
The space
YOUR PRIVATE STUDIO:
This caribbean style suite is among trees on the second floor. Up our wooden stairs you will find your own private deck whit hammock.
The room is very well lit and open. Fresh air runs through constantly. It has huge windows with mosquito nets so you are really in direct contact with nature, you hear the birds in the morning, sometimes also the dogs.
You have a super big comfortable king bed and a little sitting- sleep couch in the room.
Along with a work station or table to eat at while you overlook our pool, your private kitchenette is equipped with a little fridge, sink, coffee machine, plates, cups and a counter area for any food prepping you may wish to do.
You have a private bathroom with a shower .
A walk in closet.
WIFI is great to do Home office or Zoom meetings.

KITCHEN:
Our little oasis has a community kitchen and dining area open to all who are staying on our property. You are welcome to use the kitchen or choose your meal from our in-house vegan restaurant .
YOGA TERRACE:
Our yoga terrace is there for you for jungle in meditation, yoga practice or just to take a breath. We also offer private yoga classes for those who are interested.
POOL:
We hope you enjoy many dips in our little refreshing pool while you stay with us.
HAMMOCKS:
We have set up hammocks around the property to relax during the day among our tropical trees .
BIKES:
No need to worry about renting a bike to get around. A bike comes with your room/per guest. With the beach 4min bike ride away or the center of Playa Del Carmen, 10 to 15 minutes ride . In event of loss of bike , guest would have to pay a $2,500 pesos fee.
PIZZA OVEN:
We have an amazing pizza oven on property where we love to have pizza nights. Make sure to ask host if you are interested.
VEGAN CHEF:
Marcelino would love to cook up his specialties if desired. See the pictures of food that he has cooked for guests. Inquire with host for more details about our in - house vegetarian- vegan restaurant .
We offer delicious breakfasts with green juice, fresh fruit , eggs, coffee , sweet bread and also dinners where you can choose among vegan burgers , pizza, or the most refined vegan cuisine from our Vegan Tiger in-house food service .

THE CLOSEST BEACH:
The closest beach is beautiful Punta Esmeralda just 4 min bike ride away. You will also find our local refreshing natural cenote there that flows into the ocean.

We have one for you to ride around on.
PARKING:
There is plenty of parking in-front of the property.
TRANSPORTATION:
There is a constant bus on 30th ave, for $10 pesos, it will bring you straight to Playa del Carmen's Center.

Other things to note
We have a private beach Club in Grand Coral just two minutes from here on bike or eight minutes walk. The beach is lovely, wild and very private. For using the beach club facilities you just have to consume $350 pesos in drinks or food per person and you can be there all day.
The public beach at Punta Esmeralda is free and an open for all. Just a 4 min bike ride will get you there. It also has a cenote and a sweet water spring that flows into the ocean. It’s like a huge pool , no waves, white sand for miles.

I loved the location because I enjoyed the daily bike rides through town and there are some very nice public beaches nearby. (a public Collectivo also stops nearby) It is on the outskirts of Playa, beyond the resorts, in a pretty quiet local neighborhood. The birds woke me up every morning. <3 My room was Cactus and it was great. A small 2-person bed, but I was alone. During my stay Marcelino was there as host, and he was wonderful! I got sick with a fever near the end and he really cared for me with fruit juices and teas. He also looked well after the accommodation and pool. I would definitely come again, and I felt so lucky with this little retreat in what is quite a hectic & happening town!
