Acadia Village Resort

I liked how it felt homey when away from home. It wasn't like the usual hotel people stay at, more privacy was provided and there wasn't a hassle getting into our room.

The walls seem thin or maybe everyone was just loud. The dryer shook the walls in the middle of the night which made it hard to stay asleep and the main room got really cold when the rest of the space stayed really warm.

I liked the location, and the place was reasonably clean overall. However, the wooden furniture definitely needs a much more thorough cleaning. The seats were so sticky and greasy that we literally felt stuck to them when we sat down. The bed was also far too narrow and not very comfortable.

I didn’t like the way we were treated by the staff member working in the afternoon. She knew that we weren’t fluent in English, but she made no effort to speak more slowly. I had to ask her specifically to slow down, and she responded with a sigh and didn’t smile once. In a place where almost everyone we have met has been incredibly friendly and welcoming, she was by far the coldest and least helpful person we encountered during our entire trip from the other side of the world.

We loved the spacious townhouse and being able to save money by cooking our meals. The master bed was really comfortable. The air conditioning units all worked well. Everything was clean and neat, though a little dated, which we didn’t mind. My kids loved the large pool and playing ping pong in the game room. It was only about half an hour to Acadia so the location was convenient.

The pull out coach wasn’t great, so we used an air mattress we brought instead.

Location was good, our one bedroom villa was a good size with kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom. Kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook, lots of clean towels in the bathroom and the bed was comfortable.

We felt a bit misled about the villa we booked. We were expecting our own unit which we still got but with attached neighbors. You share a front door with the unit attached and inside is two separate doors to each unit, you also share the washer and dryer in the main hallway, we did not realize this when we booked. Our first night was good, the spa bath was the main reason for booking but it took over an hour to fill because we had to keep letting the hot water tank heat up, a bit annoying but doable if you planned ahead. The second night we had our attached neighbours check in… forget getting to wash your clothes or take a hot bath there was no hot water once we had people next door, the heater obviously could not handle that many people.
