Riad La Bigarade

Locatie is geweldig. Vriendelijke ontvangst en goede service. De kamer was schoon, maar werd niet standaard elke dag schoongemaakt, wij moesten hier 2 x om vragen.

Wij waren 7 dagen in deze Riad, het ontbijt was goed echter er was geen variatie in het ontbijt, dat vooral uit zoete belegsoorten bestond. wel was er elke dag vers sinaasappelsap. Na een aantal dagen verlangden wij naar wat afwisseling. Wij hebben 3 keer in de Riad gegeten. Er was een dagmenu. Het eten was heel smakelijk, er was geen vaste prijs. De prijs kregen wij pas achteraf aan het einde van ons verblijf. Wij vonden het eten wel erg duur, elders hadden wij ook heel goed gegeten voor minder. Het was ook enorm veel. Beter een wat kleinere hoeveelheid en dan een wat lagere prijs zou goed zijn. nu konden wij het onmogelijk op. Verder heel fijne tijd gehad.

Overall, this riad is a great find. Marika (hope I’ve spelt that right) who owns the riad is an absolute delight. She couldn’t do enough for us. While her English is limited, it really didn’t matter - Google translate came to the rescue when needed. The riad is inside the medina, which is a real labyrinth of alleys, so she kindly met us where the taxi dropped us off. We were then greeted with mint tea and Moroccan biscuits. The rooms are nice, but need a bit of maintenance. That really didn’t bother me though - the location is great, the beds are comfy and the staff are amazing (the lady who works with Marika, doing breakfasts etc. is also lovely). My friend’s room was off the main courtyard so was a bit noisier than mine, which was upstairs. Breakfast is very tasty, although it would be nice to have some fruit/yogurt. We also had dinner in the riad one evening, which was delicious (we were given soup, tagine and then oranges with cinnamon and a sweet biscuit/cake, but i suspect it may vary from day to day and I’m sure you can make requests should you wish to). Overall, I would recommend this riad and would stay there again

We stayed 5 nights and our rooms weren’t cleaned during that time. It didn’t matter that much as it was only a few days, but it’s something you generally come to expect in a hotel type accommodation. Also, you have to be careful when showering as there are no shower curtains/screens so the water can go everywhere and it would be very easy to flood the bathroom! My towel rail was about to fall off the wall so I didn’t use it. As I mentioned above, it would have been nice to have some fruit/yogurt as part of breakfast, although what we had was very tasty!

Todo muy hermoso y limpió! La habitación grande y cómoda! El desayuno increíble!
