Traditional Nepali Style 1 & 2 BHK Apartments, Humble Home, Patan

We had a wonderful stay at Humble Home. The apartment is very cozy and has everything you need: a well-equipped kitchen, a clean bathroom, a comfortable bed, plenty of storage space, a drinking water dispenser, and more. There’s also a washing machine in the building, which we could use freely. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful, providing us with plenty of useful tips. The only real drawback is the ceiling height, as it’s a traditional Newari house. My husband (186 cm) had to walk hunched over in most areas and still bumped his head a couple of times. Other minor issues include the hot water running out fairly quickly and the fact that you can hear other guests in the house—including their snoring. However, these were small inconveniences for us, as we truly felt at home here.

The Location is perfect! The Apartment is very clean! The Host is very heplful and friendly! The hot Watertank in the Bathroom could be bigger, because you can only shower around some minutes. The Neighbours were noisy. All in all I recommend this accommodation very much! Thank youu for your great Hospitality! Dhanyabat!

Hot Watertank could be bigger

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment. Newari traditional buildings with their thick brick walls keep warm in winter and cool in summer. When renovating the building the ceiling heights were raised which makes this perfect for modern needs. Access to the flat is via the traditional wooden stairs which are perfectly fine, but not for those with limited mobility. The house manager and housekeeper are around during the day to help carry bags. The beds have comfy thick mattresses and the bathrooms well designed with enough hot water from the water heater after it is switched on for half an hour. A large fridge and well-equipped kitchen (a bonus having cook knives which are actually sharp and good quality, and plenty of washing up liquid). The main bedroom(s) are in the middle of the house making them well insulated from street noises, which in any case are not as irksome as in many busier places of Kathmandu/Patan. The owner is very helpful and quick to respond to requests. He will organise a local taxi pickup from the airport which is worth it as the taxi will know the best way to get to the apartment and drop you at the door, price is comparable to the pre-paid airport service. The apartment is great value for money. The main apartment has a double bedroom and if you want more bedrooms then book the smaller, connected one above which has another double and an eves room with two single beds. The upper floor has another bathroom and a private balcony. A mattress can be added to the lounge area if you need an extra bed in the main flat. The shared washing machine is available for use with a supply of washing powder. There are nice views of the snowy peaks of Ganesh Himal, Langtang and Gaurishanker from the top terrace, perfect for a sundowner - as well as drying your laundry. If you want to be immersed in old town Patan then this is perfect. Patan Durbar square is close by, and magical strolling through at night time taking in the sights.
