Solitary Cottage Dunhinna

Cottage isolato, tranquillo, un luogo di pace e serenità! Consigliato per staccare un po’ dal caos e immergersi nella giungla con qualche trekking in mezzo alle Knuckles. Host disponibile, reattivo e organizzato! Posizione non facilissima da raggiungere ma con tuk tuk si fa tranquillamente!

Man wohnt mitten in der Natur mit atemberaubenden Ausblicken. Abends kann man schön vor der Hütte entspannen und morgens die Tierwelt bestaunen: Vögel und kleine Echsen waren immer zu sehen. Das Häuschen hat alles was man braucht: Schön gemütlich und mit einer kleinen Küche ausgestattet. Das von unseren Caretakern zubereitete Essen war fantastisch! Ein Plus: Am Haus wohnt ein kleiner Hund – Rocky – er begleitet einen auch durch Streifzüge durch die Teeplantagen. Unser Gastgeber Eric war immer super zu erreichen und hat uns auch eine Tour durch die Knuckles organisiert. In der Umgebung kann man auch auf eigene Faust ein paar sehr schöne Wanderungen unternehmen. Wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt und können es gern weiterempfehlen an alle, die Entspannung suchen und die Natur lieben, etwas entfernt von touristischen Hotspots. Kandy ist auch gut zu erreichen, falls es einen doch mal in die Stadt zieht. Bitte beachten, dass das letzte Stück zum Cottage am besten mit einem TukTuk zu bewältigen ist (was aber kein Problem ist, denn man findet genügend Optionen ;).

It is a more beautiful place than I thought and has a beautiful environment. Everyone including the owner provides friendly service. The thing we will not forget here is Rocky who provided us security throughout the night. Rocky stayed by the door until dawn and provided security for us❤. We are looking forward to visit this place again.

Solitary Cottage is a truly magical place, completely secluded in the mountains. You have your own private hut with a small bathroom and kitchenette, surrounded by nature and total peace. The view is beautiful (even though it was a bit cloudy during our stay), and the area is perfect for great hiking and enjoying real solitude. A few things could use an update, such as the fridge and some kitchen utensils, but cleanliness was absolutely fine for a remote mountain cottage. The food was excellent – lovingly prepared local dishes and brought directly to the cottage. Not very spicy (perfect for European tastes) but super tasty. The communication with the host was very friendly, easy, and helpful throughout our stay. A very special place for anyone looking to relax and disconnect. Highly recommended.
