The Ohia at The Koi House

Wir hatten tolle Tage in der Unterkunft „The Ohia“ im Koi House. Es ist wirklich ein kleines Paradies im Grünen mit Pool und so ziemlich allem, was man braucht inkl. Küche, Bad, Strandstühlen, Schnorchel-Equipment. Total liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Gastgeberin ist super nett und hilft gern, wenn man etwas braucht. Es gibt zudem einen kostenlosen Parkplatz am Haus. Es gibt außerdem umfangreiche Tipps für tolle Unternehmungen, die uns wirklich schöne Tage beschert haben. Wir können die Unterkunft nur empfehlen.

Es war soweit alles super. Eine Klimaanlage wäre sicher noch ganz cool, aber wir wussten vorher, dass keine da ist und mit den Ventilatoren lässt es sich sehr gut aushalten (Reisezeit Oktober).

You can see the ocean on the drive in, it’s located at a mid point between coffee farms and captain cook on the south and Kona on the north, making it a short drive to most places. The place is beautifully decorated, very complete amenities: cooler, snorkel equipment, sunscreen, after sun etc which felt thoughtful, good WiFi.

Dishes were not very clean and had to be washed before use. We had trouble sleeping at night hearing nocturnal pests scratching and running inside the wall behind the bed, woke up a lot worrying we’ll find them making their way into the room/bed, though the host kindly came to check in the day (but they returned to the walls at night again). There are mosquitoes indoors, insect repellent is provided, and we kept windows closed and relied on the fan. Laundry and late check out by the hour is charged which is stated when you enter the property.

Absolutely amazing place! This is an apartment located on the first floor of a beautiful family house, and connects to the terrace that has a pool and views to the lush green nature around. The place is in a beautiful residential neighborhood on the hills above the ocean, perfectly situated between the city center (8min drive) and Hanauma Bay/2-step beach and the surrounding sights (15min drive). The apartment is beautifully furnished up to the tiniest details, is super clean, spacious and has everything needed, including beach chairs, snorkel gear and even aloe gel for sunburn. The bedroom has a portable AC which kept us nice and cool overnight, and there is a powerful dehumidifier that made our clothes dry overnight. We were so stunned by this tiny paradise and can highly recommend!
