Tropic Reef at Macrossan - Heated Pool

Very comfortable for two people. Compact but with everything you need for a comfy stay. Good well-stocked kitchen with loads of pans for cooking, dishwasher and microwave, good mattresses on the beds (although mine had a definite "hollow" so it was showing some hard use), a washing machine and dryer. Best of all - two pools and one of them heated. The unit had keyless entry. Excellent! It is quiet, close to Macrossan St and only one street back from the beach.

Our stay in Port Douglas wasn't planned. I had sudden onset of acute back pain and had to ditch our planned trip in an attempt to settle my back before attempting to come home. We booked just a couple of hours before arriving. There is no reception and the booking did not trigger an email with stay instructions. I had to call the property manager and then fill out a couple of forms online and provide a copy of my driver's licence. No biggie but a bit of faffing about before we could get in. I'd chosen the property based on the heated pool to help my back pain. Unfortunately that pool was closed for maintenance from Tues-Fri that week. A note online to that effect would have been helpful.

location was ultra convenient, rooms were clean, living area was comfortable, provided info on tours and things to do around port Douglas.

The window shade for the sliding door was not working. I pinged the landlord multiple times for them to address the issue but they never replied once I provided what they asked for.

No shelf in the shower for soap shampoo or conditioner
