About this house rental
Kids will love all the fresh air and the abundance of outdoor space. They’ll spend their days in the lake or down at the pristine sandy beach (about a 5-minute walk) and will sleep soundly at night listening to the waves. If they enjoy fishing, they can fish right off the dock outside. Inside the cabin, there are plenty of family board games, puzzles, craft supplies, dress-up clothes, and children's books. For rainy days, the Wi-Fi is fast and there are 2 smart TVs set up on the main and upper floors for those who wish to watch a movie (Netflix, Disney+). A cushioned adjustable outdoor swing is perfect for cuddling on post-swim or sitting on while roasting marshmallows at night.
The area is very walkable, bike-able, hike-able and swim-able, but a car is required in order to pick up groceries, go into town (Port Rowan), explore the nearby hiking trails and forests and make the most of your location. The hosts will provide a guidebook to the area on check-in or digitally in advance! The hosts offer a variety of beach toys including buckets, shovels, balls, frisbees and beach games.
This lake house is at Long Point, a hamlet on Lake Erie, Norfolk County in the province of Ontario. One of the highlights of this property is the proximity to the beach, which is only a 5-minute walk away. Long Point Provincial Park offers over 1.5 km of sandy beach on the warm waters of Lake Erie. Kids will love spending hours playing in the sand and swimming in the shallow water (many places have graduated entrances to the lake). In 1986, this unique area was recognized as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and as a globally significant bird area by Bird Life International. If you like birdwatching, you’re in the right place with over 300 different species of migrating birds and over 80 nesting birds on the Point. The Long Point Bird Observatory is nearby. Birds aside, there’s plenty to do here with wineries, breweries, forest ziplining, swimming, picnicking, and fishing. You can hire a fishing boat or a canoe and explore by water. Fly into Toronto, the area about 2.5 hours south by car.
This rustic lake house has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom in a peaceful and friendly community with plenty of privacy. The main floor of the house has a kitchen, main living area, dining table for 6 to 8, a full bathroom, and 2 bedrooms. The kids’ bedroom has 2 bunk beds sleeping 4, and another bedroom has a trundle with 2 twin beds. The large upper loft has a queensize bed with lake views and space for a crib or extra blow-up mattress (or sleeping bags as the space is carpeted). A crib is provided on request. There’s an office set up on the top floor with excellent Wi-Fi. A small laundry room off the kitchen means you can keep on top of your littles' laundry during your stay. Outside is a large lawn, trampoline and outdoor seating next to the water.
This Lake House is set up for family living with a large dining table and an open plan living room with a contemporary woodburning stove. The kitchen is galley-style with wooden units and wood floor. The kids’ room with 2 bunkbeds is clean and comfortable with white wood furniture and soft striped bedding. The other 2 bedrooms have good quality mattresses and white wood paneling on the walls that continue the beachy theme. We love the relaxed vibe, the large plot for kids to roam and the direct lake access that makes exploring by water a breeze.
Unfortunately pets cannot be accomodated at this property.
Please note that the boat is NOT included as part of the rental.
