As a couple in our 40s who travel frequently, we chose this property because it looked lovely in the photos. Unfortunately, our experience was quite different from what we expected. The first challenge was simply reaching the accommodation. It is not easy to access on foot from the harbor when carrying luggage, something worth considering if you’re arriving by ferry. What affected our stay the most was the constant feeling of being monitored. The owner, who lives downstairs, repeatedly entered our room while we were out to switch off the air conditioning and ceiling fan. We understand the importance of saving energy, but on several occasions we had intentionally left them on for a short time to cool and ventilate the room after showering, especially since the bathroom has no window. Finding that someone had entered our room every time made us feel uncomfortable. Housekeeping was also disappointing. After a long journey, we slept in and left the room around noon on one day. As a result, the room was not cleaned and the towels were not replaced, and we had to specifically request fresh towels on our last day. The room itself has a few practical drawbacks. The doors provide almost no sound insulation, so every morning we were woken by the cleaning activities outside. The lighting consists of bright, cold white LED lights, which create a rather harsh and tiring atmosphere in the evenings, and there is very limited space to store luggage and clothes. Another concern involved the scooter rental through one of the owner’s acquaintances. We were asked to pay in cash and were told that our driving licence allowed us to rent a 125cc scooter. We later discovered that this was not actually legal in Greece with our licence, and we could have faced a fine of around €800 if stopped by the police. We believe guests should be given accurate information about local driving regulations.
