The hotel is close to the Convention Center, for a conference! Close to a small bakery, food trucks and to the beach! I appreciated that the pool is open until 11 PM.
Infestation of cockroaches!! Please replace the conditionner for a conditionner…Provide two sizes of pillows, the huge one is for decoration only…

The apartment was great! It’s located on the 21st floor and has an amazing view from the window. As for the location, you need to walk a bit to get to the beach — it wasn’t a problem for me, but if someone doesn’t like walking much, they might prefer a place closer to the shore. There are several 7-Eleven stores nearby, and they’re much cheaper than the ABC stores. Overall, it’s a lovely place to stay — clean, comfortable, and with a view that’s totally worth it!

I have stayed at this property in the past--hotel side and vacation rental. Location is great for me as it is close to shops, food, etc. Value(price) for me when I booked was great. For the price I paid, this booking was quite good.
The Waikiki Monarch is an old property, like many other properties in Waikiki. The hotel side and converted condo side are similar in terms of size, upkeep, renovations, etc. A condo unit will be a bit better due to upgrades in general by owners. But it depends on how much an owner is willing to spend of course. Some maintenance related to plumbing was the main item for me--shower drain was poor and shower fixture was old and difficult to use. But as I said, this property is old.

The location was convenient and the view over the river was great.
Many signs of damage in bathroom and property, other than toilet paper, they did not provide tissue or paper towels for kitchen. I found small roaches twice ( once in bathroom, once in bedroom)
