EVEN Hotel Waco - University Area by IHG

This is the best hotel stay I’ve ever had! What a staff! Helpful in every way. I proposed to my wife again as we approach our 20 year wedding anniversary and vow renewal. I had items delivered to the room before arrival, along with notes for my wife. The staff ensured that everything was in the room ready to go. Shout out to Nico, Richard, and another guy (didn’t catch his name). The were awesome. Had Richard call my room at 9pm and ask my wife, “Would you do Mr Bass the honor of marrying him AGAIN?” By that time, I was on one knee with the new ring in hand! They didn’t drop the ball at all.

The room and pool were great, but Julia was the best. She really took the time to answer all our questions and give some recommendations.

Cleanliness and service are above average

The price of dining and bar is ridiculously expensive

The hotel was understaffed when we stayed which caused a long delay at check in and obtaining a room. The staff tried really hard and did well to overcome this issue. The next morning however we waited almost 40 mins from ordering breakfast to nothing arriving at our table. We cancelled our order as the chef had not started it yet. Nobody seemed to be getting any food. We had paid for breakfast included, so this was disappointing and nothing was offered to us as a good will gesture, not even an apology at checkout. Overall a nice property, just a shame things were not handled as well as they could.
