House of Machine Boutique Hotel

This was our second time at the hotel - it was so good we decided to go back. This time we booked a room with a terrace/balcony - but unfortunately it was too hot (even at night) to stay in for anything more than a few mins.

This is a lovely hotel right bang in the old town, just mins away from the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, and about 30 mins from China Town. It is very convenient and the hotel is very well kept. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable.

Beautiful

HOM was, is, a great place to stay in the middle of old town Bangkok. The direct neighbourhood, which is historic, at first seems a little "seedy", but that is just because it is a real functioning part of Bangkok. The hotels is absolutely fantastic, with it's large "steampunk' themed rooms and attentive staff. My only critique of the hotel would be the breakfast, which is practically non-existent, is just drip coffee, toast, and a few cereals - having a self-serve espresso machine, some pastries, and something that contains protein would make all the difference since most of the businesses and coffee houses in the area do not open until 9 or later, only a couple a 10 minute walk away open at 7:30... this is important because mornings are the coolest and nicest time to walk around and start the day... if you wait until 8 or 9 to eat, by the time you get anywhere it is already hot and crowded. Grab is an essential app to have at this location. It is 20 - 30 minutes from MRT or the riverboats by walking should you wish to explore other areas, like Siam, Sukumvit, or Talat Noi.
