Hot tub could have been hotter. Also, some of the jets didn’t seem to be working, or, at least it wasn’t clear how to get them to work.Nonetheless, it was enjoyable.

The place was not cleaned by whomever you hired to clean! We had to wash the coffee cups again since they had coffee stains left from before last use of renters! Lots of spider webs in around the areas inside! Back porch was filthy!

I love this location—it’s normally peaceful and has been my personal getaway the past two years to cope with the grief of losing my mother. Mr. Ronnie contacted me before my stay about the hot tub needing a new filter. Since I don’t use it, I said it wasn’t a problem. The filter arrived by mail, and I let him know I’d place it inside. He said someone would come to install it and that he’d call first, but no call came. Instead, a man knocked unexpectedly that evening. As a woman staying alone in the woods, this was unsettling, especially without a peephole. The man was polite but had to walk through the house to access breakers and chemicals.The next day, lawn crews showed up unannounced, creating loud noise and blowing dirt onto my vehicle. When I texted the host, he apologized and explained they come every three weeks without notice.The home itself felt less cared for than last year. I had to clean dead katydids on arrival, the tub had hair in it, and one toilet frequently clogged. Another bathroom had cut walls behind the toilet, the outdoor bathroom was out of order, and the steps to the creek were rotting.I truly love this place and hope the host invests in repairs and better communication. It has so much potential, and I would love to continue making it my yearly spot to honor my mother.
