La Petra

Wir wurden schon zu Beginn sehr herzlich empfangen. Luigi und Elisabetta sind sehr sympathische Gastgeber. Wir haben sogar an einigen Abenden verschiedene selbst hergestellte Köstlichkeiten zum Probieren erhalten, was doch recht außergewöhnlich ist. Nach unseren Ausflügen sind wir immer wieder gerne nach oben auf den Berg gefahren, um dort die Aussicht, die Ruhe und den schönen Garten mit vielen Zitronen- und Olivenbäumen zu genießen. Das Ferienhaus selbst bietet eine sehr entspannende Sitzgelegenheit außen sowie einen atemberaubenden Ausblick vom Schlafzimmerfenster. Es ist vollständig eingerichtet und geräumig, auch die Klimaanlage funktionierte tadellos. Gerade in dieser Gegend, die in den größeren Städten (vor allem in Neapel selbst) manchmal hektisch wird, ist die Lage außerhalb auf dem Berg ein großer Vorteil, um abends Momente der Stille zu genießen. Während des gesamten Aufenthalts (und auch davor) standen uns Luigi und Elisabetta mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, was wir so bislang von unseren Reisen nicht gewohnt waren. Die Straße nach oben war bei der ersten Fahrt für uns Flachlandbewohner gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber spätestens ab dem zweiten oder dritten Mal sehr gut machbar (dann macht die Strecke sogar ein wenig Spaß zu fahren). Alles in allem einer unserer schönsten Urlaube, liebe Elisabetta, lieber Luigi, auch auf diesem Wege nochmals vielen Dank für die tolle Erfahrung.

Absolutely amazing place, beautiful view from the bedroom, incredible atmosphere, La Petra has been equipped with many things to ensure our stay, from kitchen with everything you need to really nice welcome gifts, we mentioned that we were hungry via text and they prepared fresh ingridients for pasta hospitality of the owners, their helpfullness, understanding of our needs waz top notch, the owner treated us like family, used our native language for our convenience, was very understanding of our mistakes with recycling and bad math when it comes to some things recommended many, many spots, restaurants, overall wonderful experience, id recommend it to anyone from family with kids to couples, La Petra has AC, not one but two, which was a life saver in July, the steep drive to this place is completly worth it, youll get used to narrow roads and driving there after one day, must see, would definitely go back again.

“La Petra” means mill in Italian, and that’s exactly what this place once was—a beautifully restored centuries-old mill, renovated with every modern comfort while preserving its authentic charm. The accommodation consists of two spacious living/sleeping areas, a small but well-equipped kitchen, and a comfortable, full-size bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the apartment had everything we could possibly need. The owner’s family lives in the other part of the house. Three generations share the property, which is still a working farm. The surrounding gardens are filled with olive groves, magnificent lemon trees, vineyards, tomatoes, and many other crops. It truly feels like authentic Italian countryside life. Our host was exceptionally kind and welcoming. He contacted us via WhatsApp before our arrival and provided all the information we needed well in advance. By the time we arrived, everything was perfectly clear, making check-in completely stress-free. The house is reached via a steep road from a beautiful little Italian village, so every trip involves a short drive uphill. However, the breathtaking views, peaceful atmosphere, and incredible hospitality make it more than worthwhile. We genuinely felt as if we had become part of the host family and experienced real Italian rural life. It was exactly what we had hoped for—but in reality, we received so much more. This has been the warmest, most memorable accommodation and holiday we have ever had. Thank you once again for everything. We are quite sure we will be back one day—La Petra is waiting for us again!

If I had to mention one thing that wasn’t quite perfect, it would probably be the steep mountain road leading to the property. However, this is actually very common throughout the Sorrento Peninsula and simply part of the local landscape. It was just a bit of a surprise for me on the first day, but we quickly got used to it and it certainly didn’t take away from our wonderful stay.
