La Petra

“La Petra” means mill in Italian, and that’s exactly what this place once was—a beautifully restored centuries-old mill, renovated with every modern comfort while preserving its authentic charm. The accommodation consists of two spacious living/sleeping areas, a small but well-equipped kitchen, and a comfortable, full-size bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the apartment had everything we could possibly need. The owner’s family lives in the other part of the house. Three generations share the property, which is still a working farm. The surrounding gardens are filled with olive groves, magnificent lemon trees, vineyards, tomatoes, and many other crops. It truly feels like authentic Italian countryside life. Our host was exceptionally kind and welcoming. He contacted us via WhatsApp before our arrival and provided all the information we needed well in advance. By the time we arrived, everything was perfectly clear, making check-in completely stress-free. The house is reached via a steep road from a beautiful little Italian village, so every trip involves a short drive uphill. However, the breathtaking views, peaceful atmosphere, and incredible hospitality make it more than worthwhile. We genuinely felt as if we had become part of the host family and experienced real Italian rural life. It was exactly what we had hoped for—but in reality, we received so much more. This has been the warmest, most memorable accommodation and holiday we have ever had. Thank you once again for everything. We are quite sure we will be back one day—La Petra is waiting for us again!

If I had to mention one thing that wasn’t quite perfect, it would probably be the steep mountain road leading to the property. However, this is actually very common throughout the Sorrento Peninsula and simply part of the local landscape. It was just a bit of a surprise for me on the first day, but we quickly got used to it and it certainly didn’t take away from our wonderful stay.

Rien, tout était parfait

Die Herzlichkeit der Gastgeber war wunderbar. Elisabetta hat uns mit Limoncelli und Cafe begrüßt. Sie hat uns alles erklärt und direkt das Gefühl vermittelt, dass wir willkommen sind. Luigi hat uns über die gesamte Zeit hervorragend und herzlich begleitet, uns wertvolle Tipps zu Auflügen und Lokalen gegeben. Die kleinen Präsente waren ganz reizend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, im besten Sinne wie in einer Gast-FAMILIE. Vielen Dank Elisabetta und Luigi für diese wunderbaren Tage. Das Anwesen ist traumhaft schön und wird am Besten als ein "kleines Paradies" beschrieben. Die Aussicht aus dem Schlafzimmer ist großartig. Die Hündin ist sehr lieb.

Die Unterkunft und Ihre Gastgeber waren perfekt. Die Zufahrt war sehr steil, was mit Fahrradträger schon anspruchsvoll war. Aber das war vorher bekannt. Man sollte sich über die anspruchsvolle Topographie nur bewusst sein. Wir waren im Juni dort und da gab es schon einige Mücken. Später im Sommer dürfte das noch extremer werden. Aber es gibt Insektengitter, Stecker und natürlich kann man sich auch einreiben. 😅

Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett und aufmerksam, sodass wir uns direkt wohlgefühlt haben. Luigi war sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns gute Tipps für die Umgebung gegeben. Auch unser Hund war willkommen und hat sich direkt mit Mia, dem süßen Hund der Gastgeber, angefreundet. Die Unterkunft war ruhig und hatte eine atemberaubende Aussicht. Das Ambiente war wunderschön: Natur, Blick auf Berge und Meer sowie Oliven- und Zitronenbäume. Ein kleines Highlight war der hausgemachte Limoncello, der wirklich sehr lecker war. Außerdem ist La Petra ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Tagesausflüge in die Umgebung.
