FRACTAL - Vintage Sailboat in Belém

Fractal is a smallish sailboat and is fitted out accordingly. It is cosy inside, though not really cramped. The cabin bed is quite big enough for two and comfortable. The cockpit area likewise. You can do basic cooking (though I ate out since the resturants in Lisbon are amazing). In sumarry, its good for 1-2 friendly people. You have to go to a separate building for showers and facilities. The afterdeck is fairly large and amazing for an evening drink whilst looking across the harbour. BUT view this as an adventure and something different to a boring hotel room. I loved all of it!

This is more a reality check that a "don't like". The boat is on the water and does move around. We had a very high wind during my 6 day stay and it was one of my best nights sleep (I am used to boats and don't get seasick!). The old addage, when the going gets tough, the tough get going" is relevent. This rewards the brave and adventous, but is not for everone.

Paulo is as amazing as everyone says he is - friendly, funny, and super accommodating. I loved the little boat! It really has everything you need on it, and being rocked to sleep by the waves each night was wonderful. The location is great and the whole experience was pretty much one of a kind in Lisbon!

There wasn't really anything about the boat that I didn't like. It was a fantastic stay.

Excellent location and host!

I loved it but remember it is a boat! If you’re seasick or don’t like adventure, perhaps book elsewhere.
