Had a wonderful 3 night stay at Mountjoy Ella. The staff were fantastic, the room was large, super clean and had fan, aircon and fridge. The view from the balcony was simply spectacular. While just a short walk from the main road, it is quite a steep climb. If you don't feel like the walk, there are always tuk-tuks about.

We stayed for 2 nights and they were kind enough to give us a free early check in. The views from the balcony and room are just fabulous. The hotel was looking newly built thats why the reception area is not complete yet. But when i entered the room, totally forgot about the reception area. The road to the hotel is quite steep and thats the only complain i can do. But the sacrifice was totally worth it.

The only good thing about Mountjoy Ella is the view — it’s truly stunning, one of the best in Ella. But that’s where the positives end.
The bed was so small that two people couldn’t sleep comfortably at all. The room had lots of insects coming in and out, and overall it felt poorly maintained. There were hardly any basic amenities, and there’s no air conditioning, which makes it unbearable during the hot season.
If you just want the view, maybe drop by for a picture. But if you’re planning to stay the night, I’d seriously think twice — the staying experience was a big disappointment.

The only good this about this place is the view, it was really good. But the road to go there is very steep and difficult to walk. Also the service was just not good.
