Kincasslagh

Location was very central and very comfortable.

Lack of toiletries, empty or watered down containers of soap in bathrooms. Same with washing up liquid. Dishwasher provided but only 1 Dishwasher tablet left.

Lovely cottage restored by its owner (previously his grandad's cottage). It was lovely to meet the owner on our first evening, who popped in to answer any of our questions and give us a few local recommendations. The cottage is very homely and comfortable, cosy, warm and privately situated above the main road through Kincasslagh. The village is small and quiet, besides some passing traffic and the Cope convenience store, a two-minute walk away, is very handy. The cottage has all the amenities needed for a relaxing break. The views from the upstairs bedrooms across to Errigal mountain and Cruit Island are wonderful. There is a steep drive up to the front door, but if you take the next right turn directly after the first driveway, it leads you up a two-track road and driveway directly to the back entrance of the house. We stayed for 6 nights and really enjoyed our visit. We did a bit of sightseeing most days, but the cottage is comfortable enough to enjoy a slow morning or windy evening-in watching TV. Heating worked great and there were lots of homely touches (books, DVDs, candles etc) to feel at home with.

The step in the downstairs bathroom!! Needs something to make it more obvious!!

Plenty of space, and well equipped. Local shop, but unfortunately the local bar has been closed.
