Town: Nestled on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, between Ingleton and Kirkby Lonsdale, Thornton-in-Lonsdale is a quaint village with countryside scenery and easy access to many fantastic walks throughout the local scenery, including the Yorkshire Three Peaks, Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent. The village offers a lovely local farm shop, County Harvest, which also sports a café, ideal for stocking up on essentials and grabbing a cup of tea before heading out to explore, as well as a local pub, The Marton Arms. The village of Thornton-in-Lonsdale is also within reach of the beautiful Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Settle to Carlisle railway, Silverdale and Arnside AONB for a visit to the coast and the stunning Lake District National Park, where there are many watersports and wild swimming opportunities.
