Perfect central spot for a group trip, with walking access to plenty of restaurants / bars and a short drive to Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach, Downtown, etc. The house itself exceeded expectations. Only bit of negative feedback is that it would be nice if some of the beds were larger Kings as they are all Queens.Owner was very accommodating. Would definitely rent again.

Although the house was large and comfortable--with good space for twelve of us to stay, unfortunately, there were some key issues that really marred our stay. The host was initially was very apologetic and seemed open to refunding us, but after much effort on our part, this never materialized; in fact, he ghosted us. After many phone calls and emails with details to VRBO, VRBO was no help telling us, "The host will not refund you."The biggest issue was that the main kitchen oven caught fire when we first used it (must have been food/grease below lower panel), and as a result it was much too dangerous to use. The entire first floor filled with smoke and the smoke detectors went off. After moving all the food to the oven in the lower level kitchen, we learned that one did not work at all, and the outdoor grill was filthy and also flamed dangerously high when we tried to use this. As a result we were unable to cook the hundreds of dollars of food we had purchased for several holiday meals. Furthermore, the two outdoor balconies had no furniture covers and there were bird droppings everywhere making these spaces unusable. The kitchen faucet fell off every time we used it which was a nuisance. Several dining chairs were wobbly and unsafe and two bar stools were completely broken...leaving the twelve of us with not enough seating.Needless to say, with these many issues and an unresponsive host in the face of these issues, our stay was subpar to say the least.
