I arrived later in the evening and was delayed leaving the airport. The host waited, and met us on the street. He was very helpful with my luggage (it's a walk-up as indicated), and in showing me around the apartment. Based on prior communication, at my request, he had negotiated a good rate for a one-month membership at the gym across the street. He helped me finalize that straight away and he gave me a tour of the neighborhood to show me supermarkets, shops, the metro and everything else I would need. He far exceeded the normal service. He also was ready to help me see the most of his city, of which he is very proud. He organized a trip to the GEM and Pyramids, and came in one day to bring me around in his car, dropping me off at the Egyptian Museum. My stay was much more relaxed and comfortable as a result of his hospitality. Dokki is quite busy, but the apartment is in a quiet building off the main street. In the first weeks of my stay, I often crossed the busy street El Tahrir to find cafes and other places. Eventually, I explored more deeply in the streets behind the apartment, and found many quiet places, making my daily routine much more comfortable. I would highly recommend the apartment for anyone not familiar with Cairo and who wants a central place. Overall, an excellent stay.
