Stayed three nights in November 2025 in a Sea View Room. The room faces directly onto the water, set on a rocky point at the end of Ao Phutsa, surrounded by lush tropical gardens that give the whole space a very private, secluded feel. The balcony is generous and very well set up with an outdoor lounge, plenty of cushions, a large rocking chair, tables, a towel rack, and roll-down blinds for privacy or weather protection. It’s an easy place to spend hours just watching the sea. The room is simple, calm, and well appointed with a huge bed, excellent ambient and task lighting, desk, and side tables. There’s a separate entrance area with counter and full wardrobe, including safe, mirror, umbrellas, house slippers, and robes. The bathroom is outstanding—large, bright, and peaceful with a sunroof, deep freestanding bathtub with bath bomb and loofah, a separate rain shower, and beautifully scented tamarind shower gel with bergamot shampoo and conditioner. A double basin with all expected amenities plus personal mosquito spray. The bamboo-thatched high ceiling and tall vertical windows looking into dense green garden and tropical flowers make this space feel special. In-room facilities include cable TV, air-conditioning, coffee machine, kettle, fridge, and a fully stocked minibar with all the essentials. The Reef Restaurant & Bar is open all day and serves the buffet breakfast. Breakfast perhaps tries a little too hard to create a point of difference — I would personally prefer the comfort of strong breakfast basics first, before getting adventurous. That said, the all-day dining and drinks are excellent. Great selection of cocktails, mocktails, and smoothies, all perfectly suited to the relaxed island vibe. The menu covers Thai cuisine, pizzas, sandwiches, and Western favourites. The salmon steak with mash was perfectly prepared. Desserts are interesting, with a long list of ice cream flavours. Good coffee matters to me, and the barista-made flat white was excellent — served euro-style in a large pottery cup on a timber tray with a glass of water and a small square of fresh vanilla cake with crumble topping. The resort also has a small on-site bakery, which with refinement could become a real point of difference. The team work tirelessly to ensure every request is handled smoothly and with a smile, and you genuinely feel welcomed and looked after throughout your stay. Tamarind is new to Koh Samet, small but expanding with more rooms under construction. The Reef Bar and Restaurant sits directly on the beach, with a stone floor constantly dusted by sandy feet, creating the perfect casual, barefoot atmosphere. The design uses thatched bamboo, bamboo logs, and teak timber, blending seamlessly with the golden sand and clear turquoise water. There are plenty of loungers, cushioned beach chairs, and umbrellas, with enough seating for everyone to relax comfortably. Room rates are at the higher end, but exactly what you would expect for this level of quality. Advance booking is essential as demand is high. Tamarind sets a new benchmark for this part of Koh Samet. I rate it five stars and would highly recommend Tamarind Resort if your budget can stretch to this level of experience.

I would like to raise a concern about my recent stay at your resort. During my stay, I needed sanitary pads suddenly but could not find any available in the entire resort. When I asked the staff, they informed me that none were provided. This was extremely inconvenient, especially considering that the resort is located near the sea and far from the downtown area, where it is difficult to purchase such basic items. For a resort of this level, not providing essential sanitary products is unacceptable and does not meet the expected standard of service and makes every customer embarrassed I sincerely hope that you will address this issue and ensure such basic necessities are available for future guests.
