About this cottage rental
This is a charming historic 1860's cottage in the heart of Missouri Wine Country. Nestled in the green foliage & trees, right on the creek. Wildlife and nature abound. It’s one of a kind.
The Ivy Cottage is a magical & eclectic private getaway for partners, two friends, or extended stay for remote work, writing, reading. Take a mental health break away from the hustle & bustle of your busy life. Our cottage is walking distance from downtown Hermann restaurants/bars/ live music. Hermann has a vast selection of biking/walking trails, wine, coffee, food, and vintage shops. This is our home away from home, we live here half of the year.
***Please keep in mind all three house rules prior to booking, as they are strictly enforced. 1.) This is a NON-SMOKING property. Absolutely no smoking or vaping on the property, in the cottage, or on the decks. A violation of this will be an additional $500 damage cleaning fee, and an immediate cancellation of your reservation. 2.) This is a two person property, per the permit through the city of Hermann. There is no more than two people allowed at the cottage and on this property at all times. If additional guests show up, you and your guest will be asked to leave. 3.) No pets. I am immunocompromised and this is my family home. Thank you in advance for respecting these three rules.

• Double-decker deck placing you directly in nature. Newly added screened in porch on bottom deck.
• Fire pit for roasting marshmallows or enjoying a glass of wine under the stars.
• Full kitchen with everything you need to cook your favorite meals.
• Primary bedroom with a king-size bed and private bathroom.
• Loft area with a sofa and plenty of space to relax, read, or listen to music.
• Laundry facilities on-site w/ laundry soap provided.
For security purpose ONLY, there are 5 EXTERNAL Ring Flood Light Cameras on the property. Driveway, Lower Deck, Upper Deck, Rear Entry and Side of the Home. Rear Entry and Upper Deck cameras can be turned on and off for privacy. Directions are provided in the House Binder located in the Kitchen.

My first positive impression with our stay was that Alexandria, the host, was like a friend who checked in just before your stay to make sure she had the house ready. I had read the description of the house and believed it would be in the woods, but it was not. There were trees in the yard. When we first drove up to the green gate (as we were instructed to do so) I couldn't see the house, and instantly noticed the overgrown brush and industrial business with transformers and cable next door. My first thoughts were how many vacation rentals are always in obscure places or houses that couldn't sell on the market well due to location. Although, the cottage wasn't how I visualized it's location, I was open-minded because I have stayed at hotels that were just built, with a wonderful facility, but the surrounding location was still in the works. We did like the fact that the house is obscure as you drive in, but it truly is walkable to the downtown area. Once inside, we noticed how clean and detailed everything was. It felt like a Laura Ashley home, but regardless, Alexandria made sure the kitchen was well-equipped for us. She had creamers we liked in the fridge, and she also had a tiny cake ready for my husband's birthday. The bed was a memory foam, and a bit too soft for our liking. However, the best part was the bidet in both bathrooms! This was a spoil me moment feature for our stay. I would definitely recommend staying here. Alexandria is an incredible host.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cottage! The location is perfect: close to downtown Hermann, yet tucked away enough to offer the privacy and peacefulness we enjoy. The owner has truly thought of everything you might need, from well-stocked bathroom amenities to a fully equipped kitchen.Our favorite moments were spent relaxing on the deck each morning and unwinding by the fire pit in the evenings.The owner went above and beyond to make our anniversary extra special, surprising us with a thoughtful basket of wine and treats. Her kindness and generosity meant so much to us. Communication was easy and friendly, and she was even flexible with our arrival time, which we really appreciated.We loved our time in Hermann and will definitely stay at the Cottage again on our next visit!

The cottage is private and surrounded by nature, yet close enough to walk to downtown attractions. It was very comfortable with many amenities. We enjoyed our stay very much- wish we could have stayed longer!

Ivy Cottage is a peaceful, comfortable retreat in a tranquil wooded area within walking/biking distance of downtown Hermann. We walked into town to enjoy many of the local restaurants that were recommended by our host. The cabin is spotlessly clean with lots of character. The host is very attentive and goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome. We used the Ivy Cottage as a homebase after bicycling on the katy trail. It was a pleasure to come back to such an inviting, nurturing place.
