Lara, Maynooth W23P9H6

The host, Jim, was very helpful and followed through with what he said he would do. We loved the country location for relaxation, but close enough to town for meals using the car. The breakfast was very good. The facilities suited us.

The only think is the TV was in a communal lounge which was good for socialising, but less flexible.

I and my 7yo son stayed for 4 nights for his music summer camp in Maynooth. We had a fantastic stay at the Lara. Jim was friendly. It was never easy to travel with a child but the stay at Lara was surprisingly easy. The self service breakfast suited us very well since we had to get up early in the morning. The room is clean and cosy. The house is spacious and my son was happy to wander around himself. We will stay at Lara again if we are in the area.

Breakfast was generous and acceptable, albeit do-it-yourself which we did not expect/understand from the details when booking. Our host was welcoming and informative.

There were a couple of disappointments - unwrapped soap in the bathroom; some messiness and dirty bits at the kitchen sink; out-of-date yoghurts in the fridge; not informed of a separate lounge for our use until 2 days into the stay. Bedroom cupboard containing personal odds and ends rather than being empty seemed strange.
