As others have said, don't let the outside appearance turn you away, the rooms are nice and updated. Very nice towels and the bathroom all seems new. Everything in the room is either new or updated, including LED lighting. The always locked room door is OK, just always keep your key with you so you don't get locked out. Pretty clean and comfortable. Price was a little high, but maybe all prices are high now.
Maybe an electronic lock on door rather than key on a keychain. Maybe $10 less per night on the room rate.

The lady behind the counter was very friendly. Her kids were the ones I encountered first and they were fun.
The bed was horrendous. I don't think it even had a matress, it felt more like a bunch of blankets folded up and stuffed into the bed frame.
There was someone washing their jeep in the parking lot blaring their music and management thought nothing of it. Couldn't use the microwave because we couldn't get it open.
